There are several races within Demon's Crossroads. The way you portray your character may or may not be affect by the race you pick. Here is a gist of the races available.

Demons
demons are supernatural creatures that take on the appearance of man through possession. They tempt humans towards the dark. Now that doesn't mean all demons are evil...just 90% of them are. Demons have no known age, being able to live for centuries. Demons can have relationships with mortals and can bear children, but they cannot truly love. Because a demon does not have it's own body, it'll take and possesses the body of a civilian.
*Demons have superhuman strength, telekinesis, and can disappear and reappear within the blink of an eye. Demons cannot be killed by mortal means.
*Demons are weak against exorcisms, holy water, and flinch when they hear the word cristo. An exorcism will force the demon to return to hell, leaving a human host. Demons cannot cross a line of salt or enter sacred/blessed grounds

Werewolves
werewolves are powerful beast. They are human during the light of day. During the full moon, the werewolf with transform from man to a large, monstrous wolf. Werewolves can't control their transformation or the actions they have during said transformation. Their actions are normally driven by their instincts. Werewolves can turn normal people into werewolves through biting the flesh and there is no known cure.
*Werewolves, while they are human, have slightly enhanced sences. When they are in their wolf like state, werewolves have super strength and super speed, and their senses have tripled.
*Werewolves, whether human form or wolf form, are weak against silver and a silver bullet can kill them.

Vampires
vampires are human like creatures. They can only come out at night or whenever the sun is blocked out. Vampires feed on human blood and anything else, such as bread, wine, ect, will taste like dirt. Vampires are not immortal. They simple age slower than humans. For every 10 years, a vampire ages one year physically. Vampires are capable of emotions such as love, but they cannot bear children. Vampires can turn normal humans into vampires by combining each others blood.
*Vampires have enhanced strength and speed. They can change their appearance into a more bat like look with sharp fangs and yellow eyes. Vampires do not fly, they glide through the air.
*Vampires cast no reflection. They are weak against holy water and crosses. They cannot enter hollowed ground or sanctuaries.

Witches
witches are mortals with magical gifts. They are blessed with a single gift such as telekinesis, teleporting, deflection, and so forth. Witches dabble in black magic. There are actually two types of witches. Those who use black magic for personal gain, invoking the dark god. These witch normally do not have a happy afterlife. The other type of witch are wiccans, witches who use magic to help others. They do not normally use black magic, instead they use the magic of mother earth itself.
*Witches have one supernatural gift. They can use magic rituals to help or harm others and they are more in tune with nature than normal people.
*Witches are still human, therefore they can die by human means. Black magic users normally pay with their souls to obtain their magic without knowing it.

Hunters
hunters are an interesting bunch. They are people who have dealt with the paranormal and they try to stop it from harming people. There are three types of hunters. The first type are known commonly as slayers. They make it there job to understand and dispose of the supernatural forces that threaten humanity. The second type are artifact hunters. These people are thieves who know of the supernatural forces. They steal paranormal objects and either keep them for their own personal gain or sell them to the highest bidder. The third type of hunters are madmen. They hunt and kill without honor and though they claim to the protecting people they aren't. Their main goal is to try to control the supernatural for their own agenda.
*Hunters have knowledge of the supernatural and are skilled in hand to hand combat, firearms, and other weapons.
*Hunters are still human. They make human mistakes and can die by mortal means.

Civilians
civilians are common people. They are ignorant of the supernatural and go about their days like nothing bad is ever going to happen. Civilians, however, can be changed to any of the above races. Civilians who face the supernatural normally turn to witchcraft or become hunters. If they are lucky they just continue with their lives. However, civilians can be turned into vampires, werewolves, or become possessed by and shapeless demon.
*Civilians normally run businesses.
*Civilians can be killed easily and they can be turned into any of the above races.

Shapeshifters
Shapeshifters are beings with the power to take on any form of any person. They can be anyone and anytime. The only way to tell a shapeshifter is by their eyes, which illuminate when they make contact with light.
*Tricky and cleaver, able to take on anyone's form.
*Killed by silver.
