Intelligent Shipping Debate

If you want to debate over ships, this is the thread to come to! Almost anything goes, but we have a few rules!

Please be somewhat literate and have plausible reasons. Posts such as "lol kataang winsssss! zutara suxs!!!!!!" or 'ewwwww kataang is so gross! he's 12 yrs old!" will NOT be tolerated. That's the easiest way to piss me off, so don't so it!

I relize Kataang was ment to be, but comon...it just doesnt seem right. with the age difference and all, but whats to say u cant really change the creators mind...

Well, technically the difference in age between Aang and Katara is the same as the difference between Zuko and Katara. So I never use that as a point against Kataang.

And on the same note, since I know you like Toko, the age difference between Toph and Zuko is more than Aang and Katara.

Toko is indeed cute. : )

And although I'm a Zutara fan, I'll admit that I think that Toko is a bit more plausible.

For one, the Fire Nation probably looks down upon the Water Tribe (especially the Southern tribe) as 'barbarians.' I mean, come on. They live in blocks of ice. Who wouldn't look down upon that? The Earth Kingdom is probably more acceptable (or less unnacceptable? XD) to the Fire Nation than the Water Tribe.

Zuko referred to Katara as a 'peasant.' That's pretty much what she is. Yeah, technically she would be the 'princess' or the Southern Water tribe since her father is the chief. But seriously. The Southern Water tribe is basically an igloo and eight tents. Who really cares if she's the 'princess' of that. I don't think the Fire Nation would care.

Toph, on the other hand, is from a filthy rich Earth Kingdom family. Practically nobility in their own right. The Bei Fong family is, as it would seem to me, one step down from royalty. Here's an analogy for you to put it into simple terms: Toph is to the Earth Kingdom as Mai is to the Fire Nation. She's exactly the type that would marry into a royal family.

And what better way to strengthen international relations than an international marriage? And since the entire Southern Water tribe is smaller than Toph's house, who would even consider them?

So although Zutara has, in my opinion, more chemistry, Toko is more plausible.
