Deep within the invisible borders of Germany lay a small city by the name of Shadow Pines. Shadow Pines has all the normal, everday sort of sights such as shopping centers and restaurants. However, it also has something that other places do not. More specifically, a school; Vasser Academy.

Bastian Vasser was the brilliant mind behind the concept of the secluded boarding school. Around one hundred years ago, he developed the idea for a school, in order to teach those he felt closest to and sympathetic towards. A place where students could learn about things such as literature, as well as themselves. Or more importantly, whom they were to become. The transition from mortal to immortal being can often be hard on one, especially at a young age. Dean Vasser gathered the most brilliant and immortal minds he was in acquaintance with, in hopes of creating the best educational environment possible for the developing minds within the school's walls. And it has been a complete success.

Species ranging from angels to demons to vampires, have come to the boarding school and developed their gifts. Each student is respected and each teacher is trusted, unlike so many mortal schools. The school also has ranging extra curricular activities and academic programs. Dean Vasser has also developed a system called 'mentor system' in which each time a student is new to the school, they are given a mentor. A mentor is usually a teacher or full-grown adult within their species and containing one if not all their powers, in order to help them with problems they may have. They are also great for counsellings and other within-school problems.
