Looks like the forum didn't have any new topics since I was last here lol...
But anyways, do you think it's worth the sweat, stress 'n money taking an AP test AND passing it? Or should I go directly to my university and take classes there? Obviously this is a yes, but I'm not exactly the type to pass tests (unless it's math) so... help me out here? I'd also want to know how YOU study for tests. Flash cards, etc... what works best for you? |

Hi DreamHunter! When I read material for a class .........I take notes on the important facts/concepts. I do the same thing for the teachers lectures. Then I make out small flash cards with the term, date or person on one side and the concept, definition, or event on the other side. I shuffle them up and then see how many that I can answer. This is a great way to review your lessons in short, but frequent daily intervals of 5 to 20 minutes of time! I have found that this really reinforces the lesson! They have practice books for the SAT and ACT test in most public libraries too! -------------------- __________________

My advice would be to try all kinds of things. Personally i use pictures and punny phrases, etc. i'm a literary guy. Since your a math type of person i would say the best way for you to study would probably be centered around math, chronology, ya know, left-brained stuff. Flash cards might help.
The most important thing to know is that different things work for different ppl. The way for you is closely-related to the way you think. There are several books i could reccommend like "Writing F.A.S.T." by ? and "How to learn anything quickly" by Ricki Linksman (the latter talks more directly about this topic) Have fun reading. The book can probably explain it all better than me and I don't have the time to write all about it either (i'm supposed to be typing up a Holocaust Essay right now) Good Luck!!! |
