FINALLY! There I was walking through Kohl's department store, and CKOLY comes over the speakers. I heard the familiar piano intro and was so excited!! Colorado radio hasn't really caught on to CKOLY for some reason. Oh well, that was thrilling enough dancing through the aisle listening to awesome song and artist!

Evidently, the song was selected for the CD by Sony/ATV's CEO:
When [Martin] Bandier heard the song "Can't Keep On Loving You (From a Distance)" at a meeting, 'Marty said, 'Oh, my God, this has to go onto the new Elliott Yamin album,' " Sony/ATV co-president Danny Strick recalls. The song had been composed by Sony/ATV writers Hakim Abdulsamad, Nasri Atweh, Thomas Salter and a fourth writer with another publisher. Within 10 days, Yamin had recorded the track for inclusion on the Hickory Records album "Fight for Love," which was released in May.

Thanks klo. I don't know how you manage to find the things you do, but it's greatly appreciated.
I'm a bit confused though. Does it mean that Sony/ATV said the song had to go on the cd or does it mean they pitched it to Elliott and he liked the song enough to record it. Also kind of amazing we got two Elliott references in one article about Sony/ATV's Chairman & CEO. Hope that bodes well for Elliott's future with Hickory and Sony/ATV.

Thanks for the article klo. It was very interesting.
If they were so hell bent on Elliott recording this song, I don't understand why they aren't helping to push airplay for it. You would think that this company would have enough clout to help Elliott out in that way. But Elliott did say something about a tv show and a movie may be using the song. If that's the case, maybe the push for radio will come up after it is heard by a wide audience. I have my fingers crossed for that. I wonder what tv show is interested. There are several shows that it would fit into. One I can think of is the new Drop Dead Diva. The show is not airing any new episodes yet, but it was pretty popular on its maiden voyage so I'm hoping it is going to return soon. I really enjoyed it.

I agree - you'd think the Sony would be pushing airplay for Elliott and CKOLY...I heard that the song was on this seasons Lincoln Heights again, just like WFY. Not sure where I heard it. I can think on of a lot of shows that I could imagine CKOLY in!!

HI Yall, This is a brilliant single!!!! I think this single is #1 and I don't know why radio stations aren't playing this song alot more? By now this song should have alot more spins then it has? I think this single can be Gold & even Platinum just like Elliotts #3 single Wait For You!!!! On the charts its #40 or some where around there and by now it should be higher up on the charts! This is a brilliant single and it has great lyrics and it sounds out of this world because Elliott is singing it!!!! All in all this is as great as a single can get! No other single can be better!!!! So really whats going on with this single?

Wish we knew!!! I love the song, it's catchy and his voice is brillant! I know that the song is not even being played on the radio here where I live. I get to hear some of the same crap tunes over & over again! I think Clear Channel radio has a strangle hold on all the music that is being played and unless there is some pay off for them, Elliott won't get played and if he doesn't get played, he doesn't get bought. This is an uglyconspiracy theory, isn't it??? I just think it is an injustice, and maybe off the mark, but I just can't figure out how some songs are automatically release to the top 40 and get spins and then when you try and request Elliott's songs, the DJ's will say they can't play it because it's not in the top 40??? REALLY??????????? I get so on my soapbox about the whole issue....don't get me started!!!
