I haven't seen it, but as a fan of sword & sandal-movies from all over the world (and of course those ones with big battles in them) it feels like a must. I've been trying to find it on dvd (I never been a fan of buying from Ebay and such places) but no luck.
But it seems to be medieval, have battles, Charlon Heston and swords. Which is enough for me. Do you have any opinions about it? Do you recommend it? And where is it easy to find?
Reading my notes on the previous thread, I feel I might not have given it as positive an acccount as I should have.
The sets are magnificent - the tower itself becoming a major character in the movie. The acting is top-notch, as you'd expect from such a cast; and the photography and direction are excellent: There's a beautiful and spooky moment when Chrysagon finds Bronwyn by the river, and the tree beneath which they stand suddenly erupts in a flurry of birds, suggesting the be-witchery that she seems to hold over him.
It's also got a most brilliantly staged siege - maybe Ridley Scott should have watched it and seen how it was done before he turned out his execrable KINGDOM OF GOD, or whatever that stupid piece of shite is called.
You shouldn't hold back on getting THE WARLORD, because it's a very intelligently crafted movie, with a strong story. Unlike anything that twat Ridley Scott has ever done.
