Atlas Visuals, Range of Euro titles

I don't know if anyone else has dealt with Atlas Visuals: http://www.atlasvisuals.com/index.htm

The company specialise in Euro movies that have either been taken from US TV, or European VHS tapes, and most have been English-dubbed. They come on NTSC DVDs playable on Region 2, which means they run at 30fps. All UK DVD players will handle this, but it's bad news for fan-dubbers wishing to soundtrack-steal, since the frame rate is incompatible with those beautiful Widescreen Euro DVDs for which you're requiring English audio.
However, the range of available titles is massive, covering peplum, western, giallo, spies, sci-fi etc etc, and there are some real rarities in there.
There's a 12 titles for $50 offer on at the moment, free postage to Europe, but you have to use Paypal.
I am happy with their service.

Some interesting stuff here. Have you ordered any of the B or C quality materials? Just wondered how they define "average" and "fair".

Brian has some very interesting, esoteric stuff, but... the quality isn't that great for some films. So don't get a b or c grade film expecting that it'll be like a DVD...!

Thanks for the warning Matt. I think we've all got disks where you can't tell Victor Israel from Edwige Fenech, so I was just wondering what the blur level was, it wouldn't put me off ordering.

Oh no, listen: Don't expect great pictorial quality from these titles, now that we're all jaded by DVD and Blu-Ray. The good ones look like VHS tapes, and grade down to the ones that look like worn VHS tapes copied from other VHS tapes.

But I think we've had this argument about quality before: On the one side, there are those who will watch a rare movie in any condition, just to see it; and on the other, those who won't tolerate anything not in widescreen or Hi Def.
But even the latter will weaken at the knees if the film in question is a rare, never-seen, possible classic of the genre.

I also need to draw your atttention to the fact that some of the obscure screen-grabs used in the "name that film" type quizzes on this board, suggest to me that quite a lot of us have acquired rare films which we'd prefer to be better quality, but unfortunately are not.

And on that very topic, the very welcome DVD of LE ORME/FOOTPRINTS [ON THE MOON] from Shameless is out at the end of the month.

Though I do wonder what "exclusive re-build edit" (from the review from Play) means.

I bought the two Steve Hawkes Tarzan films from them. I had to pay a couple of dollars more to get the one converted to Region1. I was ok with that. The picture quality is acceptable and on par with some other grey market discs I have.
