The trap had been laid, and Goma had taken the bait. Raizen had to admit that he was surprised his combination hadn't followed through, as those two punches alone had been the end of many hopeful careers. But being surprised didn't give Raizen reason to allow Goma to be sure of himself. It also didn't give him reason to hesitate.
In the ring he used a perfect mixture of concentration and instinct, and such was displayed as Goma made his first mistake. By the stance Goma took, Raizen could tell he wasn't a southpaw, yet he just jabbed with his right hand. Goma had broken the basics of boxing, for right handed boxers jabs were always sent with the left. That being said, the jab was easily avoided with a head sway.
Now it was Raizen's turn. Goma had broken another rule before his last, and that was backing up. His opponent had planted his feet in the ground in the manner of an out-boxer, yet he had backed up as an out-fighter would, it showed no discipline, in-fighters only went forward, not backwards. While out-boxers maneuvered about the ring with nimble legs in an effort to wear the opponent down. Goma was neither, he failed at being a textbook boxer.
But sometimes these were the most dangerous kinds. For Raizen was both when he wanted to be, and neither at other times. Before Goma's right arm could return to his body Raizen crouched down and burrowed into Goma's space. The boy now had nowhere to run, his mistake was not being familiar to the boxing arena.
Boxers started in their respective corners, the challenger being in the blue. At the beginning of the match Raizen had left his corner and met Goma in his own, giving him little space to advance. And just now Goma had backed up. He would now realize that his back was either against or incredibly close to the post of the arena. The only way out was forward, and that's where Raizen was.
With a quick motion he pushed off with his legs and performed a powerful uppercut which exploded right for Goma's chin. He made sure not to allow his upper body to spring too high though, for at the same time Toshira's left hand was advancing straight for the other's abdomen in a spinning fury. An expertly performed punch. Light's out biatch.

Heh. Raizen thought Goma was a horrible boxer before, but now his prior beliefs had been proven. He had once again managed to avoid Raizen's uppercut, but after doing so he had willingly placed his life in danger. A blow to the cranium was one of the most dangerous kinds of punches, and in truth it was what all boxers aimed for. Yet, a DIRECT blow was much better. Raizen felt his arm push forward and into Goma's skull, perfect.
Another mistake was thinking Raizen needed to draw his hands back to his chest to initiate another punch. Normally this would be the case, but it was hardly ever necessary for a counter. So Raizen went head on towards Goma's uppercut, not even bothering to dodge it. His right arm crossed over Goma's own arm and burst towards his head. Normally this wouldn't allow Goma to be hit, but with Raizen at the height advantage, since Goma was crouched down, and with Raizen putting his entire body behind the punch, it was only natural for his to be faster.
This was the worst kind of counter, a full-body right cross. Goma would now feel the weight of both of their momentums as his face was eaten by Raizen's fantastic counter. And just for....counter measure, for Raizen wasn't an asshole that liked to beat up on people, his left hand was arced and traveled towards Goma's abdomen in a hook. But that wasn't necessary, a full-force body-counter was more than the human body could handle.
Perhaps this was checkmate?

Seiyuuki pondered Hanshin's words but for a minute before shaking his head vigorously in agreement, "You got one hellava point there Han-tan!" But unfortunately, in doing so he too had missed the short and possibly painful match that had left the green-haired guy spread-eagle on the smooth mat. Frowning, he turned back to say something to his would-be recruiter only to find his gaze attached to the far wall and it's adorning clock.
"HOLY SHIT!," Seiyuuki shouted, bolting back to the Gym entrance where his backpack had been discarded before turning back to Hanshin, "Listen, I gotta run! I'll sign up at the Student Council tomorrow for sure!" And then he was done, sprinted break-neck for the closest Exit so he can catch the soonest train. He cursed his luck, having forgotten he was supposed to be getting his room assignment at the Dorm he'd be living in. He could only pray he hadn't already missed the last train to his new "home". "God, I'm such a retard..."
