Power: Uncontrollable Optic Blasts, a highly destructive force that is nearly unstoppable. His power has no effect on his brother Alex, and is fueled by the sun's rays.

Extent and weaknesses with powers: The main weakness Cyclops has is the fact that he cannot control his optic blasts. Without his ruby quartz visor, or ruby quartz sunglasses, Cyclops would literally destroy all he saw.
At times he is unsure of himself, however as he has risen as the "leader" of the X-Men, he has found his place at Xavier's institute and is more comfortable with not only himself but his magnificent power.

Fear: His main fear is unleashing his optic blasts unto someone he cares about. He also worries about letting his team down, losing a team member, or making a bad decision in respect to leadership of his squad.

General appearance: Cyclops is fairly tall, around 6'2. He has a lean muscular build, and short well kept brown hair.

Distinctive marks: None save the constant prescience of either a visor or sunglasses.

Hair: Short brown, combed down the middle and well kept.

Eyes: Red and constantly covered, however if his power was ever controlled they would be brown.

Personality: Cyclops is in many ways a natural leader, however because of this he is often unsure of himself. He feels like he often has the weight of the world on his shoulders, and is sometimes overwhelmed by his leadership position. However, because he is a founding member of the team, and has been leading for quite some time, he does not let his fear consume him anymore. Lately Cyclops has been far more confident in himself and what he saw as his shortcomings than he was when he first came to Xavier's school.

Hobbies/Abilities: Scott enjoys playing Soccer as well as Basketball. Scott is something of a natural athlete as well as a determined student.

Likes: Study, bettering himself physically and mentally, and his seemingly strong relationship with Jean Grey.

Dislikes: Mystique, being fooled, losing control of a situation.

History: When Scott was very young his family was in a terrible plane crash. There was only one parachute on board and he shared that with his brother (Alex Masters) whom he was separated from soon after. He grew up in St. Louis in an orphanage, not ever knowing about his younger brother.
Scott was Xavier's first recruit, and because of this he took the role of leader of the class. Xavier helped Scott gain control over his chaotic optic blasts by giving him his ruby quartz visor.
Scott has grown amazingly since coming to the institute, he finally got his feelings out in the open about Jean Grey and now has a strong relationship with her. He's taken the team through the good and the bad, and has even left at times. Scott has even at times tried to bridge the gap between Xavier and Magneto's ideals, trying to recruit Toad to the X-Men, and at one time joining the brotherhood with his brother Alex.
During a mission to rescue some of their team members from a government installation, just after mutants were revealed to the world, he abandoned Mystique in the facility and left with the others. After escaping, she sought revenge by stealing his visor and leaving him for dead in the middle of Mexico. It was Jean who came to his rescue, and through this their relationship finally began to blossom.
Another of Scott's important moments at Xavier's was being reunited with his younger brother Alex, who does not attend the school choosing to live a 'normal' life instead.
After graduating high school Cyclops became an instructor at the Xavier institute, and acts as the team's field leader on most missions.

Family: Scott's parents (Christopher and Katherine) are assumed deceased, he has one brother Alex Masters.

Other: Scott is now an instructor at the Xavier Institute as well as an X-Team field leader.

Sample RP entry: Scott brushed a hand across a photograph on his desk, letting out a heavy sigh as he did. So much had happened since he'd come to Xavier's Institute, his life had completely changed. Not only could he now control the amazing power that cursed his eyes, but he felt as if he'd found his place in the world. Sure it wasn't normal, his life would never be normal. Sometimes he was just a normal guy, he'd be heading off to college this fall, saying good bye to a loving family, and hello to an all new world. But no, that wasn't the life for him, his place was here among the X-Men, leading the X-Men.
Scott lifted the photograph into the light, it was a shot of Jean Grey, his sweet heart. He felt a warm feeling in his chest as he rubbed his thumb over the photograph. If he'd never come to Xavier's, if he hadn't manifested his power. Scott turned now looking at a photo of the whole team assembled together. He'd have none of this, this was more real than any foster family could ever be, and with or without his mutant power that was the best he'd do in this world.
Scott placed the photograph back down onto his desk, picking up a pair of yellow gloves from his desk. Summers pulled the gloves tight into his hands, then quickly checked his visor to make sure it was secure. So much had passed, and so much would pass, the future was his, the future was all of theirs.
