(OOC: I guess I'll wrap this thread up. Sorry for double posting but I'm trying to stay with the time. I hope no one minds me using Storm here. She has not made an appearance on here yet, and I would like to use her to help Savy. I also apologize if this post is lengthy)
A pair of eyes glowed in the darkness. A small rain cloud appeared out of thin air and poured water on a plant just outside her balcony in the mansion's attic. Ororo concentrated on her powers making sure that the rainshower did not turn into a thunderstorm.
"There. That should do it." She said to herself glancing out at the night sky. It was definately late, but Ororo was out there for a reason. She had seen Savannah fly up there shortly after sunset and knew something was up. But instead of immediately going to her, she decided to leave Savannah alone for a while before intruding, hoping she could work it out by herself. In the meantime, Ororo watered her plants waiting for Savannah to leave. However, Savannah had been out there for a long time now and Ororo thought it was time to see what was up. After finishing her last plant, Ororo made her way up to the roof. There she found Savannah staring at the moon.
"Mind if I sit?" She said calmly.
Savannah turned her head to her and nodded, "Sure."
Ororo took a seat next to her and looked up at the stars. "Nice night isn't it?" She asked. Savannah nodded. "Rather calm night. The elements are at peace." Savannah nodded again. "A lot calmer than other things around here." Savannah lowered her head and stared at the mansion's ground from above. "Care to talk about it?" Ororo asked.
"Why? It's the same ol' thing. My empathy." Savannah said watching someone's mysterious shadow from below.
"I see." Ororo said nodding and closing her eyes. A breeze blew by.
"Why is it so hard to control?" Savannah started to confess. "Everyone's emotions are so strong."
"Perhaps maybe that is why some of us are mutants."
Savannah just looked at her.
"Do you not realize that you are still young,
young wind rider? Your powers are still growing. It's ok not to have complete control. I am much older than you, yet I still have trouble sometimes as well. We all go through hard times with our powers. Trust me on this. Of all people you know, none have powers as closely related to yours as mine."
"I know. But I try and nothing works. It is difficult." Savannah closed her eyes trying to hold back a tear.
"Child, I know it's hard. Which is why you are here at the Institute." Ororo explained. "You obviously have some control over them otherwise the mansion would be blown away by now. Look at the sky. I don't see a hurricane blasting through here."
"No, but there's a shattered window in the rec room." Savay pointed below.
Ororo raised an eyebrow. "How did that happen?"
Savannah shook her head in disgust. "Tara and Jordan where fighting and I got caught in between. The hate I felt from Jordan was immense, and Tara's....then there was Danny. All confusing me and it was too much. I struggled so hard I even threw a lamp across the room in fustration. I remember it all stopping and I could hear myself think. I had to leave there before I lost control." She rested her head on her knees.
Ororo smiled. "What did you just say?"
Savannah looked up at her. "Say what?"
"The last part. Say it again."
"I had to leave before I lost......con...trol...?" The wheels in Savannah's head started turning as she processed this.
"Exactly. It's no brainer here Savannah. You had control over your powers. You fought it and won."
"I di...I did!" Savannah started beaming realizing what she had done. "I can't believe it. I know now what I did. I gained control after much struggling and pain. Which is why I probably threw the lamp. But I knew it wouldn't last long, so I left before I hurt someone. I had to leave fast because I could feel it coming back. I took the emotions I was holding back and used them to burst that window and left."
"See? The young wind rider learns." Ororo smiled. "Come now it's getting late and we should be heading off for bed." Ororo said while getting up slowly.
Savannah nodded but stayed. "If you don't mind Ororo, I'd like to stay here just a little longer before I call it a night. I promise just five more minutes."
Ororo looked at her before nodding. "All right. But no longer."
Savannah smiled as she watched Ororo fly off. "Oh Ororo! Wait!"
"Yes?" Ororo turned back floating.
"Thanks. I never thought about this until you allowed me to see it. " Savannah said. Ororo smiled and left.
After Savannah sat there calmy for five minutes she flew down to the grounds below dusting her sholders off. "Come on Gracie, off to bed with you." She said without looking back.
Gracie emerged from a bush, "How did you know?" she asked catching up with Savannah. The two started walking back inside.
"I saw you walking below moments ago." Savannah patted her head and walked on. Gracie stood there for a few moments then started running back up to her saying, "I bet if I was in my panther form you would have never seen me."
"I'm sure I wouldn't have." Savannah said smiling as the two girls walked inside the mansion and went to their rooms.
((Savannah and Gracie to bedrooms...and thus ends this chapter....if there ever was....heck it just ends their day...
