Hello everyone.
I am posting this not to anounce that the project is dead, and not to anounce that it is inactive, but I want to tell everyone that I have not completed the deadline and I have not gotten progress done for a very long time. I have what it takes to get the whole game done, but I have a little more than that. I am in grade 12 and I have very big plans for the future. My grades so far this year are in the mid 80's and it has been a big struggle to get them that high. I work lots to maintain my liscence and have a car. I have been partying hard on weekends and sleeping in when I don't work so I stay sane. I also only have my computer to work on one week out of every two weeks. Of that one week with my computer, I spend lots of time downloading music, burning CD's, facebooking good times with friends and socializing with girls in hopes that I will have settled down with a good one for the winter. At the same time, this past month I have been extreemely angry with my computer because it very frequently crashes. I spent two days dumping it and reloading eveything back on to find that it still crashes and now it rarely starts up. I have to spend another couple days dumping it again and reloading everything back on. No worries there you guys, I have the project files backed up on two flash drives and an external one terabyte hard drive. I have also realized that I have to re-purchase my registration key for Game Maker to work on the game and I have to make sure my computer is stable before doing so.

As you can see, many many delays are causing me to not work, another thing I don't really like, starting working on the game actually feels more like work and less like the fun hobby that I used to do on my spare time before having a team. I will try to overcome that.

I have been checking the forum every day I have a chance. Everyones effort will not be pointless, I just ask for patience and that everyone does not leave for good. It takes next to no time to check the forum when surfing the web.

I am sorry if I have let anyone down, but I will make up for it. I'll keep everyone updated on the situation. And hopefully soon I will have some good news and potentially a beta engine to show.

Well, I guess I was too hopeful. You're loving your life too much to think about an insignificant game. Not a bad thing-- if anything, it's a good thing. And you have big plans.

And, of course, your computer. You can't do anything without a reliable computer.rolleyes.gif

However, when I hear that doing the programming becomes a chore, then I know it's the end because even when you do have time, you won't do it. And overcoming it is not easy-- forcing yourself to like something you don't like is very difficult. And I don't want to make you do that.

I'm also concerned with the outdatedness of the game. By the time we finish it, Fire Emblem might have long gone past the stages of the Game Boy Advance-style graphics, and gone with clearer, less-pixelated sprites, as in FEDS. Nobody would want to play what we have unless it's aesthetically pleasing.

Therefore, I won't hound you anymore. I simply won't say anything. When you're ready to begin again, Jyro, you can contact me on Fire Emblem Planet.

Sui-kun, may I say that maybe what I need is to convince myself that it is a hobby again and not this big project with plans and goals and all that stuff and maybe I will start again. I am not going to lie, I miss the progress and working on Game Maker allot, and I absolutely cannot let this go into flame, I have so much going for this game already, and it has been great progress. I have allot of people on this forum who are willing to help and I claim I have no time or willingness. I should not be doing this, I know everyone involved loves it and the fact that I could program this game and everyone can make it theirs as well. I like that too and really, as soon as I get my computer running and as soon as I re-buy Game Maker, I will be planning to do some re-vising and programmming, I will not consider it work!

Sui, feel free to not be obligated to stay, along with every one else, but when I do get some done, I will contact you and maybe change your mind, if not I'm sure you would all just like to see it.

Oh no, fear not. I'm not leaving you alone xD. I'm just halting my support until I see some new programming. Take your time.

...that is, unless, Glen, Ragormha, and everyone else wants to continue discussing storylines and creating sprites. I would be disappointing everyone if I just left in a fit of anger. So, if everyone just wants to continue doing what we've been doing, then let's.

Meanwhile, I have contacted a Grade-A spriter and she's going to be making Juliet's mugshot. I also might make a few in the coming weeks, though since college is dangerous, and I also have other interests, I have a little less time.

I have good news everyone. My computer, after performing 3 windows XP re-installs and a BIOS flash and update, is finally working 100% and I will be hopefully soon getting Game Maker registered again. The past couple of weeks I have been learning how to fix the many many problems with my PC, but all of them have seemed to have diminished. In the last couple days I have been installing all my applications and games such as Crysis Warhead, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament 3, World In Conflict, and Supreme Commander. Those are my favorite PC games of all time so far, until Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, and Farcry 2 comes out.
My season working at the golf coarse is over due to the cold fall weather. I will undeniably have to seek out a new job soon becouse my funds of about 300$ left will run out within just over a month just on my lisence, my car, food, and gas.
This winter is looking pretty good to me now. I have concluded my future after high school, I'm going to be taking 6 years of university to be an Architect.
So, to everyone here, mainly I just wanted to say what has been up lately, and to tell everyone that my computer is functional!

Ok, so, computer working perfectly!
I re-bought Game Maker!
So, now I'm checking everything over and seeing how the programming comes together again and what to do next.
