I thought I would make a personal sketch thread here where I harass this poor forum with my weekly sketches.

Sketch #01: Angry Couple

This is an old sketch but it fits my mood today. /Sketch graded in Photoshop.

I love this sketch. You capture the couple's anger towards each other so well, and the black and white tone enhances the mood.

mediatorsk - Thank you laugh.gif

karracaz - Thank you. I hope it can inspire more people to make their own sketch/art-threads in the 'Fan Creations - Fanart Forum'. I link my sketches from my account at Photobucket as misskitten suggested and it works great and is so easy. Just be aware of the 600 pixels width limit on your image when posting (and of course the rules and the guidelines). smile.gif

I might take you up on it but there's too much happening at the moment for me to get my head round more forum and group stuff. rolleyes.gif

I'm busy hopping from Fanlib to here to FFN and Myfandoms....

Once things settle a bit I'll be on the case. biggrin.gif

That's awesome! I love the coloring and body lines. It has a touch of ArtDeco. Love it much.

Sketch #02: Sword Fighting Guy
user posted image

Pirate inspired sketch. I think this likes to see himself as a hero (but I don't know if he really is... )/Sketch graded and a little shaded in Photoshop.

I like the movement you have here. A question: Do you model your sketches on anyone in particular? I notice you like clean cut features. Your elves have the same sort of bone structure. smile.gif

Haven't seen you around lately. Have you been on your hols? Or still looking for a replacement fo r Fanlib?

A few of us are testing out Webjam.com.... a bit like MySpace but with more control over how you showcase stuff.

Thank you. I think my characters look like they do because of a mix between me having a certain ideal and me being lazy and drawing the same kind of look over and over again. In a way you can call it a style I guess but I should explore different looks more some day when I have the time and energy. smile.gif

The film I am working on has final deadline at the end of this month so I have been working from nine to twelve the last couple of weeks. We have had some very severe server crashes that corrupted a lot of our prior work so we have been working our butts off to catch up from that. Hopefully the worst is over on monday and I can go on vacation somewhere sunny and nice smile.gif

I have relocated most of my stuff from Fanlib to myFandoms and deviantART and are trying to figure things out at all these new places. I discovered today that the images on myFandoms do not resize at 450x338 pixels which is good so I guess I will put more of my fanart there now...

Oh hey, here's a sketch I haven't seen yet! I like the background texture. It adds character and depth to figure you have drawn. One thing I did notice was that his left hand looks a little odd, or is it just me? The expression on his face gives me the impression that he's a cocky, overconfident kind of guy, not to mention he seems like a bit of a lady's man too. I also like the shading. It's very subtle, yet it adds richness to the sketch.

I think he's got his fingers folded into the palm of his hand because he's fencing. In the old Errol Flynn movies, sword fighers used to place their hand on the hip... presumably to keep it out of the way. smile.gif

Good luck with the film, Mystery. Hope all goes well and you can go off on your hols with a happy heart.

That would make sense, his having his fingers folded in the palm of his hand. I wasn't thinking about that. Now, imagining his hand that way, it doesn't seem odd at all. I guess I was envisioning the hand on the hip stance, like in the old Errol Flynn movies.

Swedish Mystery. I'm glad that you're seeing light at the end of the tunnel now and that you can look forward to your holiday. You work so hard and you deserve a nice break now. biggrin.gif
