2014 will be an interesting year. Doomsayers should finally have a new end of the world model flushed out. An ever earlier election season will have the press putting another nail in the coffin of the concept of a conservative moderate by holding up Romney as a model of what a conservative should not be win or lose. And Canada will surpass every American scientific endeavor by being the first nation to put a bipedal cheetah in space!
Also, we will finally know what Tali is and where she came from assuming Dissonance ties up such loose ends. I have to wonder though. As Recursion seems to be an outlet for the humor of FL and the depth of Dissonance, does FL have a future along with this project? |

Well, I might as well come out with it. Faulty Logic as a comic is something I plan to officially and permanently retire after Jalyss Dislikes Skyrim. That said, I may continue to do mini movies like Fox's fake commercials and further Jalyss Dislikes videos in the future, but there will be no further comics. I simply feel like it's time to move on from them and I don't seen the sense in teasing people with just one update every few months. I think it's better to just let it end and have people enjoy the memories.

Darn it all, here I go announcing a new comic on April Fools and nobody even has the courtesy to call me a big fat liar. I would have thought by now I'd have earned some April Fools Cred...
Recursion is NOT an April Fools prank. Well, it was, kind of. My plan was to post a real announcement on April Fool's day and get everybody all in a huff about whether or not I was being serious. And darn it all, you just accepted my announcement at face value. Why do you all still trust me on April Fool's? Am I really that trustworthy a person? Sigh, next year I'ma make you all regret this *shakes fist* |

I am sure many of us suspected. My conclusion was that far more thought went into this than a simple prank would merit. A working plot, three fully thought out characters, an entire FAQ... At the very least, some bit of inspiration stuck in your head to keep you thinking along these lines for a while. It could have been a trick, but it would have been something you had wanted to do at some point and decided against. A half truth like that simply would not have been a great prank.
As for the FL news, I guess a combination of sadness and relief is my reaction. |

I tend to never believe anything on the internet on April first.
So, is the faulty logic thing legit? If so, I will miss it greatly. |

*gives Faulty Logic a formal salute*
*makes a note to be suspicious of anything Rae does anywhere near April* |

Dissonance has 2 years left tops? You've been doing for about a 1.5 years now, and you feel that you're only halfway through the story? It feels to me like the main conflict is just getting started. Can you really wrap up everything you want to do in 150 strips? (You've been averaging 75 strips a year so far, roughly)

My plan has always been to have Dissonance pick up its pace about halfway through. However, 2 years was just a rough guess, I could be wrong. |

I just know that a short chapter in my project takes about 20 pages, and a medium one 40 or so? And since I'm on a weekly schedule, I have to pack 'em full of content too than I would with the 2/week you're using. I would put Dissonance in it's second chapter, maybe third? If the dramatic curve is anything to go by, I'd say you were about... 25%-30% into it? At the current pace, that would put it at 5-6 years from start to finish? Knock off a year at the most if the dramatic pace increases like you say, you're looking at 2.5-3.5 years to finish from where you are now. |

You can get a lot done In a very small number of comic panels if you do it right.
It seems a double edged sword though, I've seen both web- and print comics that manage to go way too fast for their own goods. Trigun (print) and Untitled (web-) come to mind, the former being 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' through its whole run, and the latter feeling like a cop-out when the author decided to wrap things up at the end. If anyone feels like disagreeing with me, go right ahead. |
