[P] Alone Time

[Inuyasha]

Inu walked past the kitchen and up the stairs to the room he and Kagome shared. It was clear he was under alot of stress at the moment - between being human, meeting both his long lost brother and that...whatever he was Tetsantia. Inu sat on the edge of the bed, not noticing if anyone came in or not.

[Kagome]

Following Inuyasha back into the house, she caught up to him and sat on the bed next to him, waiting for him to look over at her. "Inuyasha, are you alright? She glanced out the window towards the yard where they had left Kiraenamo and the unconscious Tetsantia. "What was going on out there? I don't understand..."

[Inuyasha]

"Inuyasha, are you alright?” came Kagome’s voice as she walked into the room. Inu looked over at her. ”Yea…I’m fine,” he said. ”I’m just tired is all.” Really he was just stressed out from all that had happened tonight.

[Kagome]

"Inuyasha, I know when you're just tired, and that's not all that's bothering you right now." Kagome slipped her hand inside his and gave it a squeeze, leaning her head against his shoulder and giving him her best "puppy dog" eyes. "C'mon, tell me what's really wrong?"

[Inuyasha]

Kagome took Inu’s hand in hers. She knew when he was lying. Inu never could get anything past her. And those “puppy dog” eyes just killed him. ”Never could get anything by you, could I?” he said as he squeezed her hand back. ”…It’s just…too much has gone on tonight. It’s too much on me at the moment. I could take it as a hanyou, but not as a human.” Inu didn’t know how Kagome managed when things got too much for her.

[Kagome]

She laughed quietly. "Wouldn't be a very good mate if I couldn't tell when you were down, would I?" Kagome reached up to run her fingers through his hair- that usually helped calm him down. "Look at it this way, the moonless night won't last too much longer. And you were reunited with your older brother; one who you seem to get along with much better than Sesshomaru. It's always good finding your family." She smiled at him. "And at least I'm still around to help keep things sane around here, right?"

[Inuyasha]

”No I guess not,” he said, pulling her close to him. She was running her fingers through his hair. How that calmed him he would never know. "Look at it this way, the moonless night won't last too much longer. And you were reunited with your older brother; one who you seem to get along with much better than Sesshomaru. It's always good finding your family." ”Yea I know. But in my family, meeting up with siblings isn’t always a good thing…no matter how good I get along with them. You saw that yourself when you met Sesshomaru.”

[Kagome]

Kagome grinned and rested her head on his shoulder. "I know, but Kai doesn't seem like Sesshomaru at all. I mean, he did come and seek you out with the intention of getting to know you- Sesshomaru just wanted the black pearl. If Kai wanted to harm you, he could have easily done so the moment you transformed back into a mortal." She kissed his cheek. "Lucky for us he seems to have inherited more of your father's personality than your other brother did, eh?"

[Inuyasha]

”Yea I guess that’s true,” Inu said as Kagome laid her head on his shoulder. ”To tell the truth, I half expected him to…considering that’s always what used to happen back then.” "Lucky for us he seems to have inherited more of your father's personality than your other brother did, eh?" Inu closed his eyes at what she said. ”Don’t forget that I never knew him, Kagome…”

[Kagome]

Kagome reached up to rub him behind his ear- whether in human or hanyou form, he seemed to like it either way. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way...I just meant that we know your father was a kind man- I mean demon, and Kai seems to be the same way." She chuckled a bit. "Can't believe we thought things would settle down once we'd found all the shards of the Shikon Jewel."

[Inuyasha]

”Yea, and then Tetsantia shows up. I don’t like that guy one bit. Hard to believe he has more attitude than I ever dared to have,” Inu said. He could see that he and Tetsantia would never see eye-to-eye on anything – much like him and Koga. ”….Reminds me too much of Koga.” Inu and Koga had fought over Kagome for the entire time since they had met each other. ”Wonder what he’ll think when he finds out that she’s my mate?”

[Kagome]

Kagome rolled her eyes and smiled. "Let's just hope Tetsantia doesn't decide to go after me like Koga. The last thing I need is to worry about trying to keep you from killing two people.", she joked. "What still confuses me though is why Mama let him stay here...she never mentioned anything about him before, and I can't think of where she might know him from. It's strange..."

[Inuyasha]

It's strange..." ”That I have no idea about,” Inu said, getting up and going to the window. ”All I do know is that if he comes anywhere near you, he’s dead.” Inu had gone through too much with Kagome to lose her to Tetsantia.

[Kagome]

Kagome walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around him and resting her chin on his shoulder. "You're forgetting that in order for Tetsantia to take me away from you, I would have to let him. You don't honestly think I would do that, do you?" Her hands dropped to his sides, where she had found he was rather ticklish, and gave them a playful squeeze. "Eh? Eh?"

[Inuyasha]

Inu laughed as she tickled him. ”No, I know you wouldn’t let him take you away from me. And if he tried to force you, well I don’t want to know what you’d do to him.” ”Not to mention what I’d do to him.” he thought as he pulled Kagome to him to stop her tickling him.
