Brief Biography ▪
Magus was originally called Janus, and was born the prince of an ancient kingdom of magic called Zeal after it’s supposedly benevolent queen. As a boy Magus was often ignored for seeming to have no innate magical ability, his older sister Schala being the family favorite. Because of the rejection from his mother, Magus grew up growing close to only two individuals, his older sister and his cat. All people of the kingdom of Zeal drew there magic from a space-time warping entity burrowed in the earth known as Lavos. Most people, including Queen Zeal, were obsessed with harnessing the power of Lavos to become immortal. In an attempt to summon forth Lavos from an under-water ocean palace, the entire kingdom was destroyed and Magus, Schala, and Queen Zeal were flung randomly through portals in time to different time periods.

Magus landed in the middle ages of the kingdom of Gaurdia and was taken in by the leader of a group of monsters attempting to overthrow the kingdom. It was there that Magus learned of his own Magical abilities and began to harness them to his advantage, becoming a feared and powerful wizard and eventually taking on role as new leader of the Mystics. Magus, however, had no care for taking over the kingdom of Gaurdia, only for enacting his revenge on the creature Lavos for taking way his sister. During his time with the mystics he became a master of shadow magic and is capable of levitating, hiding himself in teh shadows, and projecting dark energy as an offensive weapon from his hands. He also trained heavily in the use of a scythe as a deadly weapon.

In an epic battle inside his gothic-style castle, Magus’ ritual for summoning Lavos was interrupted by a group of time-traveling Hero’s believing him to have created Lavos. The half completed ritual caused an angry Lavos to create an extremely large space-time warp, which sucked in Magus and the band of Heroes . Magus was knocked unconscious, and when he awoke found himself displaced to Cannon City. He currently resides in the Cannon City sewers, always searching for a way to enact revenge upon Lavos and hopefully find his long lost sister.
