Title: US Figure 8 live updates
dosseyfan - May 27, 2012 09:32 PM (GMT)
Will be getting to the track shortly and will try to give updates again tonight
dosseyfan - May 27, 2012 11:06 PM (GMT)
Only 25 cars in qualifying, no stocks , no vanderhoof , basham, aguilar, or mcmurtrey. Mark tunny is here tho. I have mark Harmon down for fast time bit the announcer said Jesse Tunny so I could be wrong I suppose .
RowdyBurns_51 - May 27, 2012 11:07 PM (GMT)
Anyone know where vanderhoof and basham are? No bedell, agular either.
dosseyfan - May 27, 2012 11:12 PM (GMT)
Ok I was correct , top 5 qualifiers are Mark Harmon , Ben Tunny, Austin Tunny,, RJ Norton Jr, and Mark Tunny
dosseyfan - May 27, 2012 11:27 PM (GMT)
Austin wins trophy dash , and I have no clue where vanderhoof is , and Bedell either since he tested last week and didn't show
bmeece317 - May 27, 2012 11:32 PM (GMT)
I'm in the pits
No bedell
vanderhoof is back here as well as basham
RacinHawk - May 27, 2012 11:53 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the updates guys. Keep us informed.
RowdyBurns_51 - May 28, 2012 12:25 AM (GMT)
Basham and vanderhoof planning on running?
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:11 AM (GMT)
Parade laps now , no Bruce tunny , no basham or vanderhoof either , 24 cars starting , a lot of fast cars tho so should be a good race for a bit of it at least
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:17 AM (GMT)
Ben Tunny having car problems , corbin and riddle collide slightly in crossover , mark Harmon leads early with Norton Jr , Austin and mark Tunny following I believe
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:29 AM (GMT)
Abt 15 mins in , Chris Harmon is spun in turn one and left sitting for laps , mark Harmon spun during those laps , douthitt out , mark Tunny leads with Norton Jr and Austin following , believe Norton III is 4th and white maybe 5th and cars still on lead lap I believe include Jesse Tunny, Greig, mark Harmon , Dietz Rogers possibly too
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:44 AM (GMT)
30 mins in , mark Harmon pulls off , mark Tunny still leads , then Jesse , rj Jr and Greig only left on lead lap , Doug is half turn from being lapped, mark Harmon back on track
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:46 AM (GMT)
Correction Dietz 3rd , Greig 4th just lapped also , Norton 5th
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 01:48 AM (GMT)
Norton III and Greig make pit stops as well as Rogers and Austin Tunny as well again , Dietz now around Jesse for second as they are the only 3 on lead lap
FrazeRacing#1 - May 28, 2012 01:55 AM (GMT)
did mark harmon have help when he spun or on his own
CLAPPIE - May 28, 2012 02:01 AM (GMT)
Mark had help by a lap car..in the period the red should of been thrown but as soon as a tunny got the lead the red came out
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:06 AM (GMT)
35 mins left and mark puts Jesse a lap down also , Dietz only other car on lead lap abt half lap down
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:08 AM (GMT)
I can assure u there will be no help from Joel to assist mark Tunny in this race , I'm pretty sure there is no love between those two if that's what u r saying
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:15 AM (GMT)
Caution with 26 mins left , mark Tunny pits with several others , Dietz stays out tho
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:24 AM (GMT)
Dietz ended up pitting then having problems , mark still leads Jesse may be on tail end of lead lap now, not sure ....but he is 2nd and mark Harmon shown in 3rd unofficially with 17 mins left
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:28 AM (GMT)
Yet another flat tire for mark Harmon , no idea on 3rd now as its even blank on the board, maybe Norton Jr
CLAPPIE - May 28, 2012 02:29 AM (GMT)
mark harmon worked his way back to 3rd just before he got his 3rd flat tire..
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:30 AM (GMT)
Confirmed on scoreboard now Norton Jr is 3rd , only been basically 12-14 cars on track since abt 30 mins in tho , just over 11 mins left , def marks race to lose at this point
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 02:43 AM (GMT)
Mark Tunny wins completing 275 laps , unofficially Jesse 2nd , Norton Jr 3rd, guess mark Harmon maybe 4th , 4th on back could be anybody tho
FrazeRacing#1 - May 28, 2012 02:47 AM (GMT)
out of towners never have luck there its like there is a law that say they cant and if they are ledin spinem or hitem
Wookalar33 - May 28, 2012 03:24 AM (GMT)
Glad to see Mark win! Not sure what happened to Deitz on the restart when he got the lead, though. Didn't know Mark had another Speedrome car, (thought it was sold), but was glad to see him back. :)C
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 03:44 AM (GMT)
Mark was in one of his dads cars , his old car is the one riddle is driving , the out of towners do seem to have bad luck but to say there is like a conspiracy to not let them win is absurb lol, Mark Harmon would of been prob the only car fast enough to stay with Mark Tunny other than Ben maybe, Mark Harmon just couldn't catch a break with tires, and vanderhoof would of prob been up there had he not had car issues , he would of won last night in the 100 lapper without the mishap with Basham and Mark Harmon, dk what happened to Dietz but he had second on lock down til he had problems , Chris Harmon didn't look as strong as normal but I'm guessing that was do to not having his primary engine , as far as the race the first 10-15 mins was abt an 8 out of 10 maybe then the next 15 mins a 6, and the rest like a 3 or 4 , hopefully this race does stay on the schedule and its car count builds , might need more incentive to get some stocks and/or extremea run it , and if the kings ransom stays around might make it more a reachable achievement somehow or maybe a smaller bonus for winning two or something along those lines. Couple other notes why I'm going , corbin looks like with a lil more seat time in an outlaw he will be real fast , Rogers is coming on stronger as the year progresses. Now the question is what races will mark Tunny run up here and what ones in jeffersonville?

I thought I recognized the Riddle car. This was my 2nd 8 race since the 3hr last year, so I'm kinda out of the loop on who's, who. I've never heard of Corbin....is he local? Seemed like a decent car. Where was Mac? Is Dossey ever coming back to the Speedrome, or IOFS? Sorry for so many questions....just curious.
55carrocks - May 28, 2012 04:37 AM (GMT)

Engine trouble for us we will be back learned alot this weekend
55carrocks - May 28, 2012 05:18 AM (GMT)
you were great saturday night that was your race
southern indiana fan - May 28, 2012 05:35 AM (GMT)
Just think if the 3 hour could run at that pace the old record for laps completed would be smashed by nearly 40 laps. Kenny StJohn set the record of 512 laps in 1981 when red flags were used for problems and they raced under yellow just as in regular season show and the 1 hour. I know the 3 hour will probably never go at that pace with more cars on the track but it could get back to 500 easy with a few less cautions. I told some friends with me that with all the green flag runs I did not think the leaders could make it on fuel and it looks like I was right. Hated to see jeremy6 and Basham have troulbe and not run, Bruce Tunny too. Does anyone know if the car Mark Tunny drove was the 3 friday night? Hey Hawk how come you did'nt come up as I see you were posting pictures when I thought you would be up? You are a UAW member and they gave out all kinds of free tickets, we even used four that a friend of mine got in Louisville. Note I'm not sure about Norton Jr. being in third place at the end but I guess it is possible.
fatboyjr - May 28, 2012 05:37 AM (GMT)
well i see someone put who is this corbin kid ? and while i follow a lot of other tracks i have only met him a time or two and maybe hawk can elaborate on him. what i will say is i watched him in the race and every lap he ran he just got better and smoother and improved his line all night. if he learns that fast he will be a threat for three hour rookie of the race at the very least......... vanderhoof had motor issues but damn that thing was fast saturday night, i walked over to see if i could offer assistance and he was standing there holding like a four stage dry sump oil pump, and thats all i needed to see nothing i can help with there.

yes the 17t was the 3t that bruce drove friday night its amazing how fast you can change a car with a wrap
figure 8 fan - May 28, 2012 02:40 PM (GMT)
Friday's race was the best. It was only 35 laps but 35 wild laps.
Tater - May 28, 2012 02:43 PM (GMT)
Observations from Sundays race:
1.The PA system is RIDICULOUS!!!!,why does it have to be so freakin' loud?,you cant even have a conversation with the people sitting next to you without screaming, turn the stupid thing down!!!
2.I was hoping Dietz would pull it off, really bummed me out when he broke, but that dude is FOR REAL!!!!!
3.The race should have been called after 15 minutes, the first 15 was decent but after that it was like a glorified 1 hour and 15 minute hot lap session, paid $25 to see it but got about $6 worth of entertainment.
4.I don't know who the little red-headed girl was sitting next to us was but I'm sure about 45 guys do,she looked to be about 16 but she was a shameful example of Indianapolis youth, she was dragging dudes up to her seat and acting like a complete fool by letting guys 3 times her age have their hands all over her,and I think she sold her food stamps to buy the 56 tattoos that covered her disgusting body.
5.Why did they leave Corbin sitting on the track for so long?,they had a couple of cautions but decided to ignore him and go back to green and leave him out there...oh nevermind,he's an out-of-towner....
6.Speedrome food is expensive but it's pretty dang tasty.
7.I wish these cars were built with something other than matchsticks and scotch tape, they break way too easily and ruin what could be some good races.
8.This race did not live up to the billing,if they have it next year it should be the only race for the weekend and maybe a few more cars will be able to run it.
9.The big bonus SHOULD be paid out and not dangled like an imaginary Carrot in front of the drivers, make it a guaranteed payout to the driver who has the best overall finish between the 3 nites,it would be more of an incentive to get guys on the track if they thought that consistency would and could pay off at the end of a VERY expensive weekend for them.

if he wants to make improvements then he needs to work on his cross over decisions he is not making them early enough when you dont decide till your out of the turn its to late my opinion
dosseyfan - May 28, 2012 04:15 PM (GMT)
Riddle i agree that early on he looked like he was second guessing his decisions alot(this from the stands of course so doesnt mean much) but as the race progressed he seemed to get in more of a rhythm , lets remember this was his first race in that car actually and first time on the track with all of the outlaw drivers. I think with some more seat time he will fast. Tater u hit the nail on the head with all those points , i mean i would rather have mark tunny win but would of liked to see dietz finish good , as far as the 16 year old girl , u know those free nights bring out that kind of stuff unfortunately
Wookalar33, Corbin normally runs the dromer 8 at sportsdrome and is one of the top guys in the dromers... other than that Hawk would have to give other facts abt him. Mcmurtrey broke something Saturday night, no idea what but must of been something not easily repairable for him to not be there, and as far as Dossey goes , no on speedrome , u might see him at an anderson race if the schedule works out but the focus is on the national legends championship.

I'm in the pits No bedell vanderhoof is back here as well as basham |
I just found out that Leonard Basham was not in the pits last night. I talked to someone in the know and said at least both rear shocks, rear springs and maybe the rear end was bent Saturday and he was on his boat on the lake Sunday. Tater I guess you are too infamous for someone to offer you a free ticket. We were offered some just walking in the track but we already had them. I agree Sunday was not worth 25 dollars. Oh and tater I agree with your take on everything.
CRUMRACIN03 - May 28, 2012 08:54 PM (GMT)
think the 76 had some help with the tie rod bein broke on the restart of the race
maybe someone can help me with that but the man was runin a hell of a race for what it look like what happin
same for mark harmond runing a very strong race till some fool in a white 16 hit him i think most of the speedrome guys know that mark will one day soon win the 3hour and maybe chris 2. but most of the speedrome racers run mark clean .
thats just my .03cents :scratch :scratch
