There are rumblings on fb about this being a two day show now. It has been on the schedule all year, but it has caught most of them off guard. Mike Riddle has stated he cannot get off work on that Friday so he is now out. Jeremy Vanderhoof is leaning towards not coming now too.

Casper - September 20, 2017 07:28 PM (GMT)
It would be awesome for mike to love this race to the first week in oct give enough time to fix cars etc RUN BIG TIRES

fig8fan - September 20, 2017 10:30 PM (GMT)
In this instance with the year the Sportsdrome has had Mike needs to do whatever will get him the best field of cars.

Needs to get some guys that normally don't come down and I agree with Casper that getting the big meats would be great. Make every driver buy one set from Sportsdrome and the reat can be the 3 Hour tire.

We have made things work to make the trip down just really was caught off guard with new format as it was never mentioned or talked about but never the less im a racer and want to race biggest thing i was battling was another day off work but got it handled so see u all next Friday

RacinHawk - September 21, 2017 01:24 AM (GMT)
Good deal Jeremy. it is something that was not widely discussed to make sure all knew about it. They've done these 2 day shows before, but with the Xtreme cars when they use to have the World 300. I forgot that this would be the first time doing it with the outlaws

RacinHawk - September 27, 2017 01:18 AM (GMT)

Next year this has to be a 1 day show. Spread the money out a little more. Gonahead and give them the big tires. Make them purchase at least 1 set per car. Dont do all this dumb parade nonsense. You will get 25 cars doing it like that. Run "the blast", the extremes, then the outlaws all on one night features only. Let Friday be a shakedown day if people want to come and test.

This is just my opinion, but I'm interested in hearing other people's take. I thought the 2 outlaw races this year at the Sportsdrome were a couple of the most boring races of the season. There is almost no passing whatsoever so if you start on the pole you are almost garunteed to win. Not taking anything away from Cory Harmon but I feel like if he starts 8th there is no way in hell that he wins the race. The crossover at the Sportsdrome can be exciting at times but only if there are enough cars. I also agree it needs to be a one day show. I left feeling pretty disappointed tonight! I do hope Murphy is doing ok, and hopefully his car can be put back together.

I guess nobody wants to share their opinion unless its about the Speedrome lol

fig8fan - October 4, 2017 12:01 AM (GMT)
It was like I said before rubbin.

It is more or leas a 1 lane track. Last year they tried coke syrup in the 2nd groove in the turns but that only lasted a couple laps.

You either go with the big meats or you allow dope. I think you would definitely get more cars with the big tires as alot of these guys love running on them. If you go with the big meats make each driver by at least one set. Maybe work something out with Speedrome. Problem there is Speedrome allows dope....

The cars are all so competitive now that it is just hard to pass at times.

Cory was running away the other night. I think Mark is the only guy who might have had something for him.

Make it a 1 day show like the old figure 8 madness shows that were the 2nd of 3 big shows to end the year on. I would do the plinko as well because it guys more guys a chance to win.

I would also only give $10 per lap and take the $1,125 you save there and spread it out from 5th or so on down.

Thoughts?

Casper - October 4, 2017 12:21 AM (GMT)
I'm rolling you callin it dope

Well I've had aces days/weeks/months to consider this and all that I can really say after 50 years of attending weekly is that I have never been more disappointed! The only weekend I truelly enjoyed all year was the 3 hour. It was a great race this year. I swore half way through the season I wouldn't be back to sportsdrome until something changed but I kept giving them one more chance, only to be let down again! Figure 8 madness with very little figure 8 racing??? The midwestern, which I thought offered a nice purse brings 15 cars? Something is terribly wrong here and me not being an insider, just a fan, have no idea what is broke?? I harken back to the days when there were enough cars to run a feature and a consi!! As hard as Hawk works for the FWD's I thought participation there sucked as well. Wish they would just shut down sportsdrome so that the best drivers in the area (our guys) would not be conflicted and everybody goes to Indy every week!! I believe between the lack of entertainment and the quality of concessions, those that run the sportsdrome could give a $hit less if I come or not!

Casper - October 7, 2017 06:32 PM (GMT)
It's actually good to hear this and it not say speedrome

fig8fan - October 8, 2017 10:58 PM (GMT)
What a difference a year makes....

Last year Speedrome was hated and Sportsdrome had great fields and shows and now.....

They can both thrive without hurting the other. I do think the tracks do need to work together though. Sportsdrome needs to have more than 3 Outlaw shows a year.

whocares - October 9, 2017 12:01 PM (GMT)
There are enough cars from each track that you could run a points division that hits both and maybe Anderson. If the 3 tracks work together they could put on a hell of series that they control and would help their individual tracks get back to what they once were. Get the 3 owners together discuss rules figure out tires and get sponsorship for the division, it can work just need someone way smarter than me to run it.

CRUMRACIN03 - October 9, 2017 07:52 PM (GMT)
you can add whitesville o the list they fixed the track

fig8fan - October 10, 2017 02:18 AM (GMT)
I see 0 chance of this happening. KG only allowed "his" outlaws away 3 times for Sportsdrome to have them. Sportsdrome area has alot of cars to help support the outlaw brand. Anderson basically brings nothing to the table other than being a unique track.

A series just isn't feasible in this day and age IMO.

Let Sportsdrome have 3 regular season shows and then the 4th being the Midwestern with big ol' tires.

Anderson can have the festival at the end of the year.
