So now that just about everyone missed the point and wants to make this about saving $2.00-$17.00.
Heres what I'm guessing will be my final thought. Go buy one of those really expensive 200 dollars or so Colts ticket. When you show up and you're told they wont honor the seat. Don't get upset. Now that you have to sit up in some far reaching corner of Lucas Oil Stadium with an obstructed view, remember this. You got a hell of a deal on the seat and beside Irsay wanted to show off the stadium to 50K of his best sponsors. Don't be upset, remember the team loves to play in front of a packed house. You should feel blessed that you even get to be in the building. Now go stand in a long consession line and pay for overpriced junk food that McDonalds sells for pennies on the dollar. Again, I remind everyone this is not a sign of success. Long lines to get in means the people taking tickets can't rip tickets quick enough, mind you this is a freebie night. The argument that somoene wants to make is that, it was essentially free Sunday. SO WHY DO THEY NEED TO RIP TICKETS. Its FREE. Therefore that turns that argument back to the point of MISMANAGED! Finally. The reason why the stands are so empty, so often, is simple. 1) MISMANAGED 2) Devalued Product. The Product of racing has been so devauled. This is what happens when you give it away. Yeah, the UAW can pack the place! These same people are either to cheap(which means they are not your target demographic)to show up on regular night or tickets are over priced(which means the product is devauled or over priced) 3) Low attendance is a direct sign of low car counts on regular nights. No cars = no fans in the stands. I mean they are struggling to get 6 hornets cars this year. Thank god those 2 or 3 owners bring thier hornet cars. Can anyone remeber the last time the Speedrome had to run a "B" Main? Heck most of the dirt tracks in the area have to run "B"mains due to higher car counts. The Cohens need to stop making drivers feel like they gotta kiss there butt in order to race at the Speedrome. Create a better atmosphire and experience for the drivers and the fans. Stop screwing over fans and drivers, in all make racing more afforadble for teams and more entertaining for the fans. Sincerely, That Guy -------------------- I Am "That Guy"

I went up to watch Sunday's race and pull for the home town boys. (Harmons). I'm really into the clean raceing and the way you guys treat each other with respect up there. I plan to be up there soon with you guys. The race would have been much better as a one day event. It took away from things by some cars not makeing Sundays race. I can't imagine trying to race 3 days in a row. I'm limited on labor & $$$.... It takes a few days of really getting after it to get my car ready after each race.... at a minimum.

i called the pit office 2 times saturday night telling them people are cryinging
at each other over seats they need to do or say something the lady told me 2 times there was a mistake about people thinking it was resevrd seating i said why do the tickets have seat numbers on them she said they always do that at the printer. i think the truth !!!!!!! is joel didnt sell many tickets and after makeing this a big deal he had to cover his ass by giveing out free tickets to put people in the stands. this only track around that has to give free tickets out . anderson dont kokomo dont gas city dont and winchester dont |

Lets add my $25 worth to this thread.
3 nights of Racing for $25 on a Holiday weekend is a helluva deal no matter how you slice it. The concessions have improved tremendously and the pricing is fair. 3 pieces of tasty boneless chicken for under $4 is a helluva bargain. The 3 day pass was advertised on the website and the loud speaker as Grand Stand Seating - Best Seats in the House - Sold until they are gone. The website ads do not say reserved seating but rather Value, Super Saver and the like. My recollection is that they did announce them as reserved but thats just my recollection. When I purchased my tickets at the Pit Office I was asked "Do you know where in the stands you want to sit". I was given tickets with seat numbers corresponding to the area I suggested. There was no seating issue on Friday or Saturday. Sunday the seats I presumed were reserved for me were taken but I was lucky enough to get seats in the same general area so I did not make a fuss. If you did not get a seat, did you ask somebody at the track to resolve the issue at that time? If not its like complaining over a spilled beer. Might as well deal with it and go get another since the rest of the beer is still good! The racing is still outstanding and the value is exceptional but don't try and BS me by saying the seats were technically not reserved. If thats the response you got then I understand you feeling you were mislead. I didn't have an issue so I can't say I was jipped. Free tickets for UAW? UAW members pay dues to the Union. The Union Leadership strikes a deal with the track that includes tickets. The UAW is paying something as a sponsor using the dues paid by members. The tickets are then not free but paid for at a group rate. I expect that if I had a large enough group and could sponsor a race that I would get some admission tickets with the deal as well. Bigger deal = more Value Added tickets. |

Who cares. There are very few UAW nights in a season. People don't complain about there bring too many open seats on a regular night because most of these people don't come on regular nights. The UAW tickets are not free, they are paid for at a group rate. If I were you, one of the people complaining about reserved seats, I would just have bought a pit pass to have a good seat in the pit stands and to see all the action in the pits for $30. Goodnight.

The group rate thing is not true. The union members where I work were passing them out like money. one guy took 20 home. Ok I guess the group rate could be figured into how ever much they sponsored for the night or year. The Union President here had a huge stack setting on his desk to pass out. Its false advertisment to sell a 3 day reserved seat and not honor that seat on the 3rd day. Don' care if someone paid $1 or $1000 for that seat. -------------------- JR Rouse

I agree they should honor the reserved seats if they are sold that way. Thought these were just super savers though? Nonetheless I would expect a reserved seat if my ticket hat a seat row and # on it.
This just sounds like another butt hurt fan that has a grudge against the Speedrome. These supposed fans are always looking for a reason to rip apart (enter track name here). No track does everything right (Sportsdrome is Def. run the best). Speedrome has plenty of issues, but most start with people not liking the Cohen's. It doesn't matter what they do there are many that guys out there ready to pounce. -------------------- |
