X8 Race Recap:
The Xtreme Winged Figure 8 division had a 50 lap event sponsored by Jim Butner Auto on Saturday night. Gerry Isgrigg took the lead from the pole position and built a nice comfortable lead as the battle for second took place between Jeff Roberts and Artie Ware. On lap 11, it was Ware passing Roberts as he set his sights on the leader. Isgrigg had almost a full straightaway lead. Ware only made up a little bit of ground over the next 12 laps when a caution came out for the stalled car of Bud Russell. This would bunch up the field, putting Ware within striking distance now of the leader. But surprisingly during the caution, Isgrigg had to dart to the pits for an overheating issue. This put Ware in the lead now as Isgrigg returned to the track for the restart on the tail of the field. Ware would easily go on the rest of the way in taking his third victory this season. Roberts finished up in second with Cory Harmon finishing in third. Isgrigg was able to work his way back to a fourth place finish while Dale Shelton rounded out the top 5. -------------------- |

FWD Oval Race Recap:
The FWD Oval division had one feature on Saturday night with all cars that were present scheduled to start. A total of 22 cars out of 28 made the call for the 25 lapper. Jeremy Clary, winner of the last two B features, took the early lead with Joey French running in second. After a couple of cautions, it was still Clary leading on a restart on lap 6. Last week’s feature winner, Austin Baum, was in 9th place during the restart. Billy Higgins Jr took the lead on lap 12 with Baum quickly moving into second place. For the next few laps, these two would battle it out for the lead with Baum finally getting around Higgins on lap 16. Baum would go on to win his fourth feature of the season with Higgins finishing in second. Higgins by the way was running the number 51 on his car for Jason Thompson who blew a head gasket earlier in practice. Royce Harmon took third place with Harold Graham fourth and Derick Bradshaw fifth. -------------------- |

In the 30 lap Oval Xtreme feature, it was Allan Williams Jr winning for the fourth straight time as he won flag to flag. He did the same thing last week in a 100 lap special event as he has been dominating as of late. Teammate James Wayne moved his way up for a second place finish as Brandon Roberts took third. Tommy Brown Jr finished up in fourth while Josh Clemons had his best finish taking fifth.

Update straight from Donnie Blanchard. 2 cracked ribs. Approx 4 stitches in head. Small bone in wrist cracked. Big thing. NO CONCUSSION never knocked out. Neck brace a precaution, no neck injury. He is sore today. He is lettering cars today. Hopes to have car clipped for next extreme race. Glad I was not there to see it. The FWD Figure 8 division only had 12 cars make the green flag in their 20 lap event. Colt Moore took the lead early and never looked back as he avoided a busy intersection on the last couple laps to take his first feature win of the season. Brian Krebs took second with Derick Bradshaw third, Mike Cottrell fourth, and Billy Higgins taking fifth.

Look for very limited coverage of the races tonight. Not because of the heat, but because of the fact that I will be working both Saturday and Sunday for 12 hours each. I probably won't make it out to the track tonight until around 6:30 or so. Then I won't have much time on Sunday for computer time. It may take a few days but everything will post eventually. Patience is the key this week.

forget that crap Hawk,if the sissies think it's too hot to attend the races you should not cater to them by providing them updates, let them stay home in the A/C and knit sweaters and watch Oprah reruns

I guess I'm just too nice of a guy Tater. With that said, I will have a small surprise award tonight that I will give out to someone tonight. That's all I'm going to say about it. I'll explain it all later tomorrow. Or Monday.
