I've started "cleaning" things up around here. Getting ready for the new year and the new season here on the board. Most topics that were in the Nest for the 2011 season can be found in the 2011 Archives section of the site. Many of the other posts in the other forums from 2011 will be in there too if they are noteworthy enough to be kept. If not, they will be scraped.
I wanted to get the 2012 version of the Hawk's Nest up and running because of the anticipation of the 2012 Sportsdrome schedule that should be released very soon. Also, details of all the rules and payouts will hopefully be released as well. Full details of the new Dromer division system are being eagerly awaited by everyone. I will have all the ins and outs as soon as I can get them on here so that we can immediately start breaking it all down.

We'll have to wait and see. I believe that it will pay pretty good on the overall. But I know that a lot of guys don't want to run that many laps on their car each week. Maybe it will be feasible for you to run the oval at an easy going pace for about half the race. Then go to the pits, come back for the figure 8 and let it fly. The overall payout should be really good for a top 10 finish I'm thinking. We will have to compare the old payouts for the two separate divisions to the new setup once it comes out.

I do have a question.. does the same driver have to run both oval and 8 on the same night to get the full pay. The reason im asking is i was going to split seat time on my car since i only run ovals

hawk i think its gona be the other way around all of the guys will run the oval n the chicken sh1ts will pull off of the 8. ive always said anyone can drive circles it takes a real skilled racer to drive the 8.I hope they have to finish half of the8 before the even get scored, hell paid at that. get it done boys..

I was talking about Crum specifically since he said he wanted to run just the 8 this season. But yes, there will be several oval guys that do not want to run the 8 along with a few guys that don't want to run the oval. What Clappie brought up will be a key factor on how many cars we will see all together. Some of these guys could team up and share a car and split the cost somehow. Not sure how that will work, but it would be good if they could do that.

i bet they only add the payouts togather 2 make one payout you know 100 for the oval in the pasted and 150 for the 8 in the past so what run 50lapps for 250.00 ???????

needs to pay about 400. to win 200 for the oval and 200 for the 8 and for some guys it justed gets fuel money back and very little to get back in next week!!

JUST HOPE ITS SOMEWHAT FAIR

while im at it i dont want to go back to strret tires, the slicks even out the field. cars with the big motors would have a bigger advantage on street tires. dont change the dromer rules, just enforce them. xtremes and dromers all run the same tire

i dont thimk you know much about tires but a street tire has less grip than a racin tire so a BIG MOTOR will spin a street tire a more and faster than a street tire so in retrun it SLOWS THEM DOWN with a small motor you dont spin the street tire as much more grip SO YOU CAN RUN WITH A BIG MOTOR. and go over to the drome and run a stock 350 and win as it is now 350 will not run with the 400s?????? as every one says they have

Thats my .03 cents headbang.gif headbang.gif headbang.gif

that is correct the street tire has less grip, so you take away the only edge a good setup has compared to a big motor. the big motor only helps on 2 places of the track as a good handling car is good on 4 places on the track. ive ran the drome on both tires, i could get atleast a month out of the slicks running both oval and 8, so that doesnt bother me.

set up on a street tire is just as good on street tire than a race tire its alittle tire pressure adjustment thats all

if you dont cut down the street tires pass 4 or 5 when you have them buffed they will last a 6 weeks

i realy dont care what the drome dose we talked about run other places any way just 2 much money 2 run the drome in a dromer

you put mirors back in dromers its a crash fest mysmilie_12.gif

Here's the link to the front page of the Sportsdrome site. They have the new 2012 schedule up on there right now. More details will be coming on these events soon.

http://sportsdromeonline.com/#.php

A few things to highlight on here. The Xtreme 8 division has been given less laps this year. This is what everyone was wanting of course. The first race for the Xtreme 8 has been the 1 Hour Enduro the past few years, but that has been taken off now. It has been replaced with a Birthday Bash event celebrating 66 years of racing at the track. It will feature a 66 lap event for the Xtreme 8. The following year the race will then turn into a 67 lap event. Also gone will be the Triple 50s which will be replaced by a 50 lapper. And yes Figure 8 Madness is not on the schedule anymore. We talked this past year about how this race wasn't the same as it use to be. Well, now it's not anything at all. It too has been replaced with a 50 lapper. The 2 Hour Enduro and the World 300 are still on there though.

A correction should be made on the schedule. Figure 8 Madness IS still on the schedule. That is an error that will be corrected on the front page of their site. Figure 8 Madness will be on Sept. 1st.
