Herd several people talking about the heat last night at the track. From a driver or a fan perspective, what is your thoughts on racing in the heat? I am seeing tracks all over the midwest cancelling shows due to the heat. What do you guys think?

honestly, the hot temps are very hard on the cars, but even harder on the drivers, crews, and fans. for safety at the temps we have now, we should stay home, reschedule the races. i seen a very young girl, may 10, being carried by paramedics with an oxygen mask on wednesday night, very hot, very hard to put on good shows, alot of drivers will not run in those temps. for everyones safety it would be better to reschedule, but if the tracks says we are racing, i am there.

I was going to post something about this but I see Jr done beat me to it. There are several people on fb hollering about the heat. They are downing the track (Sportsdrome) for not canceling the races. I say keep them on. Yes it is hot. If it's too hot for you, then just stay home and take the week off if you want. A lot of people stayed home last week and the racing still was good. I didn't hear anyone gripe about postponing the NASCAR race. Neither did I hear anyone talk about Salem on Wednesday. Heck they had a early start time of 5:30 too and nobody said anything. It just seems like that some people want to just gripe about anything at the Sportsdrome. O well. At least I got to vent a little here

As a fan we sometimes forget just exactly how much work it takes to keep a car on track each week. I am the type, no matter how hot or cold, I'm up for a race. As a driver, its hard to work on that car during the week when its over 100 degrees each day.
