I can't make enough milk for my bublet's increasing demand. sad.gif She drains both sides then just keeps crying her hungry cry at me with this accusing expression. I'm taking nasty herbal tea to increase production, but I think the problem is mainly that it's hard to stay hydrated enough in this heat (something I have trouble with at the best of times, more so than other people for some reason). I can start to use formula when I don't have enough, I just didn't want to have to do that. I know it isn't my fault, but it makes me feel like a failure. Motherhood seems to be full of bullshit pressure like this. Give birth this way, feed your child this way, dress your child this way, burp your child this way... Can't everybody just mind their own fucking business and leave me to do the best I can? angry.gif

If you are dehydrated, some supplements (possibly as simple as what's in sports drinks, or as elaborate as potassium chloride tablets) may restore your body's electrolyte balance.

This is important for other reasons than milk output.

Check with your doctor to see what's safe for a breastfeeding mom.

While you're on the phone, inquire about beer. My ancestors used that to make more milk. Dunno what current thinking is on that though.

You are a caring and excellent mother. None of us here think otherwise.

Just so long as you know that you're not. Tilda has a great mum. smile.gif fluffle.gif

Thankyou. I'm sure I could do a lot worse. I'm not on crack or anything.

That's a good idea. I'll ask the GP. I have to go again soon anyway. T needs more jabs.

I haven't put up pics in ages. Will see about it soon.

Yeah, she'll be on solids in no time.

Dyed my hair dark-brown yesterday. Unfortunately I forgot to take into account just how damn thick an impenetrable my hair is, because it came out kind of patchy. Fortunately, the dye wasn't much darker than my natural hair colour, so it doesn't look too bad, but I'll still have to re-do it. dry.gif
