• Respect the staff and other members of the community. Do not start out of character fights for any reason whatsoever. If things truly cannot be kept civil, then you are advised to take the argument to personal messenger. Please do try to keep it off of the board.

• No flaming. Much like the first rule, we do not want any fights breaking out that will lower the quality of enjoyment for the community as a whole. So if discussions cannot be done in a mature manner then it will not be allowed. Topics regarding politics or religion are expressly prohibited, only due to the fact that, unfortunately, there are some who cannot accept a difference of opinion or belief, so for the sake of keeping the peace, please keep the conversations easygoing.

• No spamming. Do not clutter up the board, please. This includes double posting within a twenty-four hour time frame or advertising for another board outside of the advertising forum. Advertising your board via personal messenger also counts as spamming and is not allowed, so please keep from doing so. If reported for pm advertising, you will receive a warning and if it continues you will be banned for a certain amount of time that is deemed appropriate by the staff.

• Cybersex in the role play. This site is mature, however when it comes to a point in the role play where you feel that sexually explicit actions may take place, we ask that you add a warning label to the topic title or description, so that anyone reading will know what to expect going in.

• No excessive swearing. Cursing is allowed on the site, however that doesn’t mean it should be every word in your character(s)’ vocabulary. In trying to tell a story, it doesn’t make for very good reading either.

• If your character is human, you will be given the opportunity to have them mutated if you wish. Should you have your character willingly, or not, administer or be administered the Aevum gene in any form, then you may do so. Just be sure to inform the staff if this takes place, so that your group may be properly changed.

• Please role play in third person, past tense. That is the only acceptable POV on this site at this time.

• No Powerplaying. You cannot take control of another person’s character without their express permission. This goes for any actions, especially having your character kill another member’s character. You must give the option as to whether a strike made contact or not to the member who’s character you are attacking.

• No Godmoding. Your character is not invincible. Nobody’s character is. Not even some of the most powerful canons on this site are beyond death. So if you get your character into a tight spot, chances are they will not come out unscathed or even alive. Be realistic. This site takes place in a very dark, violent, and macabre setting. For example, if your character injures a leg, then they should exhibit signs of injury for a while, such as limping. It should not be healed within the time between topics unless it is agreed upon that the succeeding topic takes place at a much later time after the injury was sustained.

• No Metagaming. You may not use outside knowledge within the role play for personal gain or advantage. This includes looking over a member’s character’s profile and then using information from it to use against them in the role play. Just because you know of something, does not mean your character(s) can too. That is blurring the line between ooc (out of character) and ic (in character), which is something to avoid.
