Hair:
Dark blonde in hue, the same as her mother’s. When she was younger her hair was light with streaks of darker blonde running through it. It was also quite long. However, when she was taken into Buhtenghar prison it was cut short. A year of growing has brought it to her shoulders, but it is nowhere near the length it was before.
Eyes:
Brilliant blue. Her eyes are very expressive and almost always reflect how she is feeling.
Body:
Thin and lithe. Renia is in very good shape, though this has more to do with genetics than actually working out. She doesn’t have to work out every day or watch what she eats, though admittedly these practices probably help her stay in the shape she is in. She is tall, but average height for her race. She looks much like an elf or halfling in that she is more beautiful or perfect in body than humans tend to be, but always claims to be human. Her years of tracking down Nirvia’s loyal Alterion pets has left her with more muscle than she had years before.
Recently her time in prison has resulted in Renia’s body becoming alarmingly thin and fragile looking, but she still retains most of her strength. She will tire easily until her body has had time to recover. She also has numerous new scars, most across her back and shoulders, from her time in prison, which will not be visible in any form but her own. These scars are easily hidden in human form by her clothes, and Renia prefers to keep them out of sight. She avoids mirrors now due to extreme change in appearance.
Home:
Renia once resided with her family, which wandered the land freely and focused mainly on remaining unseen. They were neutral when it came to what happened within the land of Licadem and preferred never to get involved with other races and their concerns. Since her family moved from place to place, Renia has no real attachment to any one place. Instead, Licadem in all its entirety might be considered her home. All in all, Renia considers her true home to be the Rebel Base.
Parents:
Veran and Donia, both Alterion, and both avid believers in the ‘live and let live’ ideal. They tried to teach their daughter to think much the same way.

Character Personality:
Renia is perhaps too caring and loyal in nature. Growing up the way she did, it was natural to feel that way toward those around her. Renia is the sort of person who would like to see good in everyone if she could. However, once betrayed, Renia has trouble trusting that particular person again without a valid reason. She would never betray or harm anyone if she could help it, and may be one of the most trustworthy people you will ever meet.

Character History:
Renia was raised in a family that was constantly moving from place to place throughout her childhood. Her parents insisted on this because they said it was the only way to never become entangled in anyone else’s problems. They consistently told her that it was better to never become involved in any type of trouble than to take a side because it would only lead to disaster and unhappiness.
As Renia grew, they began using the state of Licadem as an example. Joining the Rebels pr the Queen’s side, they insisted, would only help lead the land to war and ruin. Her mother insisted that if the Rebels succeeded in bringing back their Prince the land would be torn apart in a battle between him and the current ruler. To her parents’ way of thinking, nothing good would ever come of resisting Queen Nirvia’s control.
But as Renia grew older she began to question their advice. She pointed out many times that Queen Nirvia was a ruthless and cold ruler who caused many of those under her rule to suffer injustices that they would not likely endure under their true leader. She also suggested that she and her family escaped Nirvia’s terrible rule only because they were running from it. Slowly she became convinced that the Rebels had the right idea, and that something had to be done.
Her parents tried to dissuade her from her decision, but Renia insisted that, despite what they believed, there would be a war wether or not she played a part. She preferred to have a say in what happened to the land in which she lived. Renia would not sit back and watch from a distance as things were decided for her. She felt a responsibility to herself, to the people of Licadem, and to the Prince himself, to get out there and help in whatever way she could.
So with a farewell to her parents, Renia left home and went out in search of the Rebels, and the missing Prince.
She managed to meet up with a Rebel soon after she turned 18. Bella became her very best friend, and the two of them worked under Kade, the Rebel leader, together. But when Nirvia suddenly revealed that she also had Alterions under her rule, Renia and Bella were forced to split up in order to track them all down.
Renia met up with even more friends along the way. First came a centaur named Klein who was a wandering performer. Klein became something like her adopted older brother. He is determined to keep her alive and out of trouble, but Renia seldom makes it easy for him. She also met another Alterion by the name of Jonathan, and the two ‘grew on each other’ after a couple of chance encounters. They made a promise to meet at the same place during a festival five years later as insurance that they would indeed meet again someday.
Although Renia still manages to delude herself, another acquaintance of hers is the Bluejay, an infamous thief whom she seems destined to cross paths with again and again-and also happens to be Jonathan’s elf form. Renia sensed early on that he does not wish her to know his identity, and although she could have certainly figured it out by now, Renia intentionally keeps herself from doing so. Through the last few years Renia has grown closer and closer to the Bluejay, to the point that she can hardly stand to leave him when they meet randomly. Renia has no idea if the Bluejay feels the same. All the same, she keeps herself from thinking on it.
One year ago, after one such chance meeting with the Bluejay and another difficult parting, an orange kitten Renia had taken pity on and fed some scraps of food showed up again, only to reveal that she was a child Alterion by the name of Jinx with a very powerful panther form. Before Renia could react she found herself held down by the panther as other Alterions converged on her as well. She was taken to Buhtenghar prison immediately, where she was locked in a cell on the top-priority floor underground. She lived in the damp cell without light for a year, forced to swallow some sort of drug every eight hours which made it impossible for Renia to clear her mind enough to take another form.
Luckily, her five-year appointment with Jonathan led to her rescue. John managed to break Renia out of prison and the two fled to the Alterion city of Edren, where they hoped to remain unnoticed by Nirvia’s forces long enough for Renia to regain her strength. They bought a house in Edren, posing as newlyweds. But Edren was in a troubled state when they arrived. Soldiers guarded the gates and allowed no Alterions to leave, and Renia soon discovered that the pills she had been forced to take in prison to limit her Alterion powers were being used in Edren as common headache medicine, ultimately rendering the entire population powerless. On top of all of this, Nirvia’s soldiers seize all the children at a certain age, causing most of Edren’s Alterions to stop raising, or in at least one case hide, children.
Renia, meanwhile, is having extreme difficulty in staying in Edren. She feels guilt for dragging Jonathan along and trapping him in Edren with her, because she knows beyond a doubt that he hates remaining there as much as she does. She also has a lot of trouble watching Edren suffer without making any attempt to help the people she is quickly becoming fond of, and the children she knows will be taken in a matter of time. She is also discovering just how much damage her time in prison has done to her. Renia has begun to find that she has more than one personality within herself: one which she terms ‘the Rebel’ which is prideful, independent, and fierce, and one which she terms ‘Meek’ which has a tendency to be submissive to any authority figure and is more deeply caring and clingy than Renia likes. She has begun to notice these two sides vying for dominance within her, and she never knows which one will win out. She has also noticed that the medication, which may have resulted in the multiple personalities, has possibly permanently damaged the way she senses other Alterions. She can no longer feel presences as strongly as she did a year ago, which served to tone down her headaches from the massive numbers of people in Edren and allowed her to grow used to such proximity to other Alterions quickly. Yet it also means the range at which she can sense other Alterions has diminished and may never recover. Other Alterions may sense Renia now before she senses them, creating a disadvantage for her.
Character's good/bad personality traits:
Good-Loyal, dependable, brave, caring, and has a strong sense of right and wrong.
Bad-Tends to be too open and caring toward people, can be headstrong and determined to the point of sacrificing herself for something she strongly believes in, and is very unforgiving to those who betray her trust.
Weapons:
One plain sword which she is very skilled with.
Also, Renia, as an Alterion, may transform into a wolf or Shiler when she likes. She has not yet taken a third form, and does not have any plans for it as of yet. She prefers to be taken as a human and never mentions that she can take these forms, since she wishes to blend in and keep her forms secret for a time when they may come in useful. Therefore, she will never allow others to see her transform if she can help it.
Special Abilities:
Can transform into a wolf or Shiler at will, but is limited to the physical form.
Ability to perform magic, though it is a small gift and usually only used for healing.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes-Animals, nature, people, peace, and rainy days.

Renia wears normal human traveler’s clothes in a variety of colors but simple in style. She prefers loose clothing and soft shoes because they are comfortable and tend to make her look less like an elf and more human.
Dreams/Goals for the Future:
Finding the lost Prince and helping anyone she can along the way.
Tracking down a young Alterion girl named Jinx.
To disappear once again when all is over and enjoy the peace she hopes to create.
Reason for Dreams/Goals:
Renia feels that finding the Prince will be the first step in helping to bring Licadem back to its former glory, like when the previous rulers kept the peace. She has a tendency to help anyone she can and has a great compassion for others in need.
Although Renia is normally what most would term ‘nice,’ she will never forgive Jinx for luring her into a trap and resulting in her stay in prison. Dreams of revenge are among the only things that have kept her going so long.
Renia is beginning to miss her family’s way of life and longs to live a normal life for a while in a peaceful time. She hopes to see the day when she might be just another person in Licadem, never seen in the same place long enough to be recognized. Such a life would likely bore her after a year or so, in which case Renia will likely find something else meaningful to do.
