My male Betta, Sushi, has been sick for some time now. About a month ago he began showing signs of sickness, although I could never quite diagnose what it was. He was not as active as usual, sitting mostly at the bottom of the bowl and eating less and less. As of now, he is still not active, and he has been going a full 8 days without food. Whenever i try to feed him, he refuses to eat, and just watches it sink to the bottom. Sometimes he sits near the top of the water, or sometimes the bottom, but either way he does not swim around or eat anymore. His color is the same, he does not show signs of fungus, tail rot, dropsy, etc... he looks healthy except for the grey streak on his head.
I have done almost everything to get my fish better. I do water changes as often as the water begins to look dirty. Lately, every 4 or so days. I have been giving him some epson salt in his water. I use special tap water conditioner with aloe vera. I've tried changing his food to something more appealing for him to eat. For about two and a half weeks I've been giving him BettaFix Remedy which treats external fungus infections and things of the sort. Since this didn't change anything, I started using AP Plus "Bacterial Infection Treatment." This last treatment has only been for a couple days now, since I just decided to try something else. I'm still not sure what is wrong with him, even after bringing him to and talking to the PetSmart people 4 times now. I keep his water room temperature, since i don't have any current means of keeping his water any warmer. I'm not sure what else to do, or if there is even any point to it. I've already spent more money on him then I would have liked to, and he shows no improvement at all. Like I said, he hasn't ate anything in 8 days, and I'm beginning to wonder if he will end up dying a slow death by starvation. Is there anything I can or should do for him? Please give me any suggestions you might have. Thanks, April |

sounds like it is something internal. i would do more often water changes. bettas can handle daily water changes. i would suggest getting some colloidal silver. it has been the miracle cure for me. i have yet to lose a fish to disease while using itl.
