Why is it that Slave Lake, with a population of 7000 has a Geocaching Community and yet Grande Prairie, with a population of 50'000, does not? Can't we be a group too? What do we need to do?

I think we would need to have monthly events to get more people involved.

I just started geocaching in mid August after reading an article in a magazine. I would like to be a part of the GP Community of Cachers. I think I have a lot to learn as I have a few DNF's on some of my first trips out. Got all excited to find something then..nothing. I have been doing some research in forums etc. For example, found out today what a nano was. No wonder I didnt find it on Saturday. I can't wait until the next CAR. Its nice to see so many new caches as a result of CAR II. One of these days a FTF is on the horizon for me. Although I think there are some early birds in the area.
There are 4 new geocaching members in GP as a result of my reading that article. Many are family groups. Its a great way to get outdoors.
I am looking into placing a cache of my own and would like to order some travel bugs soon.

Well its great to see that we have new cachers in our area. There is an event being held on september 17 that would be a great way to meet some G.P cachers.

Well it would be great to go caching with other people if we had not found all the caches around G.P.

Oh put me on THAT bus! :D I noticed Hinton had a lot! I was going to go there in September and then our plans got changed. I was very disappointed. Would be great for TB's I think...on the highway out to other destinations.
