I have a 60Cx that recently became full of geocache waypoints and would not upload any more.
With my Magellan 400 geocaching edition, these were stored on the data card and I could switch between groups such as Grande Prairie caches, Calgary caches, caches with only Travel Bugs in them, etc. I could also identify the different types of caches such as multi, earth, traditional, etc. With the 60Cx, all the caches are the same Treasure Chest regardless of type. Also, when my waypoint memory got full, the only way I found to make room was to delete all of one icon, for example Found Geocaches. Is this the only way? Is there something I don't know about? And the size of the cache - someone once told me that GSAK could upload the Size of the cache to your unit, but I have not found this to be the case. Then again I barely know how to use GSAK. Does anybody get the sizes on their units? And the Hints - the Magellan allows a few characters for the hint, but the Garmin does not show me the hints. It has however undergone a change which to my knowledge I did not initiate but I do like. The Garmin used to show me only GC codes of the geocaches, but ow it shows me the first few letters like "CherryP" for example. How did this happen? -------------------- ~ 4 Paws And Then Some

Well I think the reasons its showing up the letter of the caches is which program you use to upload it. I do all my finds by pocket queries and upload them using mapsource. I cant tell you anything about GSAK I have no clue how to use it and if its not user friendly I'm not going to bother with it. As for the different cache types they all show up as the same treasure chest. (I only find traditional caches now a days.) I use a ipod touch for the cache info it is very helpful to have along. It shows the whole cache page the recent logs and it will tell you the hint. Its well worth investing in it helped us so much on our U.S trip. -------------------- Cacher

I'm still trying to get Cache Magnet (for ipod) to work, that's the one RatRoot mentioned, for the cache info.
Which uploading program makes sense but I'm pretty sure I used GSAK for each... -------------------- ~ 4 Paws And Then Some
