This game was released for the Playstation a long time ago (I'm guessing about '95) and later released yet again for the GBA. It's a very bizzare game with little in the way of plot and repetitive gameplay. Yet for some reason I love it.
The entire game takes place in a town. The main feature is a huge magical tower full of treasure, where monsters roam free. However when a human incubates and hatches a monster egg they fight alongside him. The top floor of the tower is supposed to contain the greatest monster egg of all, and many tamers have died reaching it.
So as you can guess the game is basically your character trying to hit the top floor of the tower (the 40th). This is done by locating the elevator on every floor (which transports you up one) but there are monsters and traps that get more deadly as you go up. And every time you re-enter the tower, the layout is regenerated. It is entirely random so items change and the floors become different (although the same monsters can be found).
As you make money you can spend it in the town. You can ask the carpenter to construct buildings and eventually turn the poor desert town into a city with tons to do (including a casino, swimming pool, bowling alley and racetrack). As you progress the people begin to show you respect. And girls go out with you because you're no longer a poor brat who smashes things (or something).
For a game seriously lacking a deep storyline, brilliant graphics and varied gameplay I find it fun.
