Yes I am a bit new here on the site. I assume this is a Potter style universe and this is an academy of witches and wizards as is Hogwarts. Do you have some background on the school? Where is it located? I think I understand that it is off the coast of Brazil? What nationalities attend? I understand we are sorted by the stone and placed in various houses. What main qualities are associated with each house? or is it just random? I need a bit of an idea to have my character fit with the house I have been sorted into. To use a bit of Harry Potter, I wouldn't put Neville Longbottom into Slytherin. TIA for any background.

Golden Isles is set off the east coast of Brazil, the exact location is not known, due to enchantments.
It was founded around 1789 by a Brazilian wizard by the name of Ivanore Hermina who wished for Brazilian witches and wizards to come forth and be taught properly, because ever since the dawn of wizardry in Brazil, young sorcerers were taught by their parents, many fed up with trying.
He found three other sorcerers who also believed that a Brazilian school of magic should be built.
Their names are the houses as is most magical schools.
Joseph Shadows, founder of Shadows House, which was known for it's charming students who were almost always ready to face any situation that came their way.
House colours are yellow and beige.

Ivanore Hermina, first Headmaster and founder of Golden Isles, founder of Hermina house, which was known for students who always acted like they were great students, often having a dark past, involving Dark wizards. Most "evil" sorcerers of Brazil came from this house.
House colours are green and gray

Bonita Lezela, founder of Lezela, which was known for intelligence, and beauty, after all, Bonita Lezela was described as "beautiful one", her name meaning "beautiful" in Poruguese, the language of Brazil.
Pink and black are the house colours. They were originally a dark shade of magenta and black, but they were changed around 1801 by a decendant who shared the same name as Bonita.

Guille Mooney, founder of Mooney house was known to everyone as the bravest founder, who valued courage and power.
House colours are red and gold.


The school colours are gold to reflect the colour of the sands, and gray to reflect the colour of the flagstones used to build the magnificent castle.
