For the sake of getting the story out, I've debated posting the pages in a semi finished stage. It might be gray scale or I'll go the extra mile and change the lines to a color and add some quick shading or something. My goal after volume one was to find a way to get more pages completed on top of finding a less time consuming method for coloring them. They won't look unfinished for the final book though. This is an example of what I might do. Just not... so detailed on the shading...

I need to stay consistent, make pages, and update. Would any of you find it horrible?

Hi luv! Glad to see you back to updating!

You know, I don't mind the gray scale semi-finished pages if it means pages will come out more regularly. As long as the final printed pages will be done in color like the previous fashion, which you said it will be. ^_~ I will miss your wonderfully colored pages though. We'll just have to buy the book to get the full-color experience. :)

BTW, any idea when the collected version will be done? Just curious, no pressure. ^^;

I wouldn't mind it like that, if it means the story progresses faster. But I still really love the way you use vibrant colors.

I don't really mind either way. To be honest I'm more interested in the book status!
I definitely prefer coloured, since updates are few and far between anyway right now, I don't really mind the wait.

personally even with black and white pages, excuse my bluntness, but I don't believe you will update more often. :P

haha. just my point, i just saw this was written in april or something. If i ever considered buying a book from this comic, just the frustration out of waiting forever, being told "oh updates are coming on this day" and then on said day, nothing whatsoever would come up, times and times again, just made me go "oh well, too bad. you don't respect me as a reader." your lack of constance made me lose interest in encouraging you.now I'm at the point where I'll check perhaps once per 2 months to see if there's any maybe new pages. yep. I just whined and gave my piece of mind. damn. it feels good. have a nice day, dear artist. i'm going to read fey wind.

It's not a matter of updating more often actually. I just want to finish pages. Are you aware of how tedious process it is to make comics? To write, sketch, ink, color, letter, however many times you have to for the sake of telling a story.

I can't post because I'm on a cell phone. I just don't worry about having the internet short of checking email right now. I used to get really stressed about not updating but I'm over it. I have clients who come first.

FG is still just my personal side project.

Consider this; I never had to share FG to begin with. I appreciate that people enjoy my work and it's not lack of respect for you as a reader. I'm under no obligation to KEEP posting. And yes, please, go read other great web comics. Support ALL of us. If you feel the need to come back, hey, that's awesome!

FG will keep going at the pace of my choosing, whether you read it or not.

Give him the artist piece of mind Nashya!

I have stuck with this comic for many years, and even if things take years to make that does make them any worse! We live in a society where everything has to happen NOW, and that is such a bad way to live really.
I love this comic no matter how often if updates or if the artist can stick with the schedule or not. And your art has inspired me soooo much through the years!

Sure some web-comic artist can update 2-3 pages a week, which I find crazy and I'm not sure how they do it.
I have just started a web-comic, though I update by chapters and not by pages so I won't have to stress posting stuff every week. But I'm doing this because I want to, not because I'm paid for it, like most of the other web-comic artists.
I mean one page can take up to 5-10 hours to finish.(or more) ONE frigging page! That's a whole day of work!

So mind you Chrendochi, I think you should find some respect for artists in the world, and don't ever take web-comic or any other free art for granted!

(but to the point of FG, I hope you can keep it up, if you would have inked pages to post that would be great for the storyline, but personally I would want to be able to see your comic in colour since you have such an amazing feel for colour. But really, I hope there will be a time in your life where you can take some time off to really focus on the comic because it's such a well written piece, but I guess few of us can afford that)

Of course I don't mind black and white. Sure, I'd love grayscale, but I know how much time/effort that takes to get used to, (unless you've already done it before?) and I'm thankful you're updating at all!

(Some people won't like me saying this, but personally, I think that you should stick with white and black even after you do the buffer – if you do grayscale, that is ;) – for all of the online comic, and color it just for the completed product, aka, the physical book. That'll be further incentive for them to buy it ¬_¬)

i think black and white is a great idea! Your artwork is stunning on its own, and you can always go back and colour some pages when you're bored. Lets not forget cover art and chapter divides to right? Seriously I feel like everything you touch is gold! Story, art, and colours... but for the sake of pacing its probably wise to save time where you can.

i agree with Chrendochi and the artist is seemingly making excuses. we have yet to see an update with these "greyscale" pages. It's already been a month.

anyway, i've given up on this comic with all the hiatuses it's gone on. sure the artist has a life and lack of internet (everytime though? wow), i understand, but i've grown impatient. lots of other nice webcomics to look at that the artists have clients AND a steady commitment to.

The webcomic stigma of "we want more updates" versus "it's free so appreciate it" is an ongoing and heinous lens many internet-goers tend to beat black and blue, and overlook--in terms of the little things--what feedback will actually be considered constructive..

That said, grayscale holds a certain type of eloquence that only the artist is capable of refining; I think FG is indeed amongst the few comics that fall under 'capable.'

If anyone has read through "Tales of Paylea" they will see right away how grayscale can be tragically fugly. If anyone's read "Last Blood" by Bobby Crosby, one can see how it can be done 'very' correctly.

FG can definitely pull it off, I say go for it!

her fans will overule what i say, i understand. but i am not sad.
