The end of the season. The questions aren't going up just yet (because all games are on Sunday, so that gives me an extra day)

Firstly, here is a summary of what everyone needs from the final week to make their predictions from Week 32 right:

James needs..

0: 4-4, 4-1, 4-2, 5-0, 5-3, 6-4, 7-4, 6-1, 7-1
1: 3-3, 4-3
2: 1-0
4: 2-0
5: 1-1
9: 0-0
10: 2-1

Simon needs...

0: 3-3, 4-4, 3-1, 6-1, 7-1, 5-3, 6-4, 7-4
1: 6-0
2: 4-1
5: 2-0
6: 3-0
8: 2-1

I need...

0: 1-1, 2-2, 4-4, 4-0, 5-0, 3-1, 5-1, 6-1, 7-1, 4-3, 5-3, 6-4, 7-4
1: 3-3, 3-0, 6-0, 4-1, 4-2,
2: 0-0
3: 1-0
8: 2-1

Tim needs...

0: 2-2, 4-4, 6-0, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, 7-1, 3-2, 5-3, 6-4, 7-4
1: 3-3, 1-0, 4-0, 5-0, 4-3
2: 1-1, 2-0, 3-1, 4-2
3: 3-0
7: 0-0
10: 2-1

So to decipher that, for example, Tim will score 3 points if there's no 2-2 draws this weekend. He will score 3 points if there is one 1-0. He'll score 3 points if there are two 1-1's. He'll score 3 points if there are ten 2-1's.

Second, Simons idea - can everyone post a question ABOUT THIS WEEKENDS GAMES that is relevant to scoring or something like that. Post with a maximum of 10 points available. I'll post the usual 5 tomorrow...probably. Maybe Saturday I'm afraid, as you can imagine I may be a little busy tomorrow.

FOOKIN WANKARED MATE!!!

1. How many goals will be scored by teams north of Birmingham this weekend? Three for dead on, 2 for 1 either way, 1 for 2 either way.

What are you counting as north of Birmingham? i.e. Aston Villa, yes or no?

2. Name as many teams in the football league and conference divisons as you can. James loses 1 point for each team you name.

2. Pick 7 players. For every goal they score, get 4 points, but lose 1 point for each one you pick that doesn't score.

I prefer the non-hidden question. tongue.gif

QUESTION 3

1 point: A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, U
2 points: D, G
3 points: B, C, M, P
4 points: F, H, V, W, Y
5 points: K
8 points: J, X
10 points: Q, Z

Source

a) Choose 3 letters and gain the corresponding amount of points for each time that letter appears in the surnames of the all the different scorers in this weeks games.

b) Choose 5 letters and lose the corresponding amount of points for each time that letter appears in the surnames of the all the different scorers in this weeks games.

Example:

a) A, N, G -- b) M, Y, K, W, Z

Goals scored by:
Ronaldo = 2 points
Gerrard = 3 points
Adebayor = -2 points

I hope that makes sense.

Sorry that it's late, but here we go. I decided that in the interests of fairness and laziness, we'll have your 3 questions included in the usual 5, rather than seperate.

Table:
James: 445.5 + 48 = 493.5
Tom: 419.6 + 43 = 462.6
Tim: 417.26 + 42 = 459.26
Simon: 388.25 + 27 = 415.25
Nick: -4

CODE
Sunday, 11 May 2008

Birmingham v Blackburn, 15:00
Chelsea v Bolton, 15:00
Derby v Reading, 15:00
Everton v Newcastle, 15:00
Middlesbrough v Man City, 15:00
Portsmouth v Fulham, 15:00
Sunderland v Arsenal, 15:00
Tottenham v Liverpool, 15:00
West Ham v Aston Villa, 15:00
Wigan v Man Utd, 15:00

1) 1. How many goals will be scored by teams north of Birmingham this weekend? Three for dead on, 2 for 1 either way, 1 for 2 either way. (James decided Aston Villa is in Birmingham and therefore not north of it)

2) Pick 7 players. For every goal they score, get 4 points, but lose 1 point for each one you pick that doesn't score.

3)

1 point: A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, U
2 points: D, G
3 points: B, C, M, P
4 points: F, H, V, W, Y
5 points: K
8 points: J, X
10 points: Q, Z

a) Choose 3 letters and gain the corresponding amount of points for each time that letter appears in the surnames of the all the different scorers in this weeks games.

b) Choose 5 letters and lose the corresponding amount of points for each time that letter appears in the surnames of the all the different scorers in this weeks games.

Example:

a) A, N, G -- b) M, Y, K, W, Z

Goals scored by:
Ronaldo = 2 points
Gerrard = 3 points
Adebayor = -2 points

4) Predict these teams. For every team you have left over after this week you'll score the points that you would get if you got it right next week (i.e. James would get -2 for Sunderland)

James: Sunderland (-1)
Tom: Reading, Sunderland, Tottenham, West Ham, Wigan (3)
Tim: City (-14)
Simon: Sunderland, Tottenham (0)

5) Who will win the League? (2)

To remind yourself of your answers from Week 34, everyone get a point per goal the following score:

Tom: Man U and Portsmouth
James: Man U and Spurs
Simon: Man U and Portsmouth
Tim: Man U and Newcastle

1) 13

2) Dempsey, Drogba, Ballack, Tevez, Ronaldo, Doyle, Santa Cruz

3. For this question I am setting the rule: If Benjani scores, his name is down as Mwaruwari on the BBC Website, so we'll go with that. Mwaruwari not Benjani.

a) A,D,Z
b) Q, W, J, X, U

4) Reading (1), Sunderland (1), Tottenham (1), West Ham (2), Wigan (1)

5) Man Utd

If you say so. But by choosing W for b) you'll lose 8 points if he does score.

I was going to check the answers by using the BBC Results page. Where they refer to him as Benjani. Or do we not have to check our own questions?

----------------------

1. 10

2. Ronaldo, Torres, Defoe, Lampard, Drogba, Owen, Yakubu

3. a) O, R, D -- b) H, J, K, X, Z

4. Sunderland (0), Spurs (1)

5. Man Utd

3)

4) City - 1

On that logic, you should've gone for Hannemann, Van Der Sar, Reina, Cech, James, Friedel and Howard.

EDIT: Seems to be saying 'User Posted Image' for me.

Scores: Tom: (-8pts), Simon (-20pts), James (-34pts), Tim (-12pts) & Nick (7pts).

N.B. That has Taylor as the Bolton scorer. The BBC seem to be having some problems confirming who got the goal. Some places it says Taylor and others it says Davies. Sky Sports are saying it was Taylor's goal as well.

N.B.2. That also only includes the letters we chose.

I wouldn't worry too much about competition from me, I got -14 for Man City, and I'm not getting any points for predicting final league standings.

There were 19 goals scored by teams north of Birmingham this weekend (including 9 goals in one game), which makes mine slightly easier to score than Si's:

Tim (0)
James (0)
Si (0)
Tom (0)
Nick (0)

Although Tim was one off getting a point.
