The most recent version is the one in which "Firefly Universe" has been split into "Firefly Universe 1" and "Firefly Universe 2". If you don't have that version, you should get it.

While the updates in this version are most relevant to Windows users, there were one or two changes to the Mac version as well.

I'm going to try to organize the download site a little better, to minimize the amount of bandwidth needed for version updates.

A new version has been uploaded with some additional fixes. I've found a way to temporarily change the index page while uploading, so the above problem shouldn't occur again.

More fixes have been uploaded, and some resources have been moved to balance the file sizes a bit more. Windows users, get new versions of both Universe files. No changes Mac users need be concerned with.

If you want to have increased fuel capacity while testing, get the new version of Firefly Ships.rez. I'm not going to upload a seperate version of this file for Mac users (yet), but if you really want it, you can download the .rez and convert it.

Another version has been uploaded of both Universe files, and the Interface file. The change in the interface is extremely minor, so don't worry about getting that if you don't want to.

I have not updated the archives this time, however. I'm going to wait until I get a lot more fixed to do that.

This version contains images converted from TIFF rather than BMP. It's important that you let me know when crashes occur, so that I know whether importing from TIFF works or not.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to have improved file size at all-----I'm approaching the point where I'm going to have to split the files again.

Might I point out that the assorted image files for the default Nova Scenario (the three Nova Graphics and the four Nova Titles - Nova Titles contains the landing images) total about seventy-five megs, while your two Universe files are only a little over twenty megs when added together, as of the last time I checked. Admittedly, they have more ship images than you do, but I think you've still got a long way to go before they start getting too big.

The size isn't coming from the ship graphics----it's from the landing graphics. When they're jpeg-encoded, they're tiny, but then WinNova crashes when you try to land. So I've got to TIFF-encode them instead, which makes each one about 500K instead of 60K.

All right, I'm uploading the latest version now---all files are up-to-date. A few interface tweaks, but other than that, just repairing the last few graphics-related crashes on Windows.

I'm going to assume all the Windows crashes are now resolved unless I'm told otherwise.

All users, Mac and Windows, should download the latest version.

Uploading the latest version. You should download new versions of all files, except Firefly Ships. Note that two new files now exist: Firefly Universe 3 and Firefly Governments. Both of these contain some data that used to be in Firefly Universe 1, and some new data.

Mac users, just download the archive again.

EDIT: Note: With this version, you should move "Nova Data 3" out of the Nova Files folder, and stick it wherever you've got Nova Data 2 hanging out. This will allow you to see the new news items.

I'm uploading a new version. I don't recall what's been changed, but before I get back into the swing of things, I figured I'd better get the latest stuff out there.

New versions of Firefly Universe 1 (with more junks) and Firefly Ships (with target and shipyard pics for both available ships now) have been uploaded.

I uploaded a new version of Firefly Universe.rez for Windows users. This contains all junks added to date.

Let me know if any of you use Macs----I haven't yet updated the archives.

I am on a Mac and I would love to try this mod. Where can I get the newest version.

I also would like to check it out and would be willing to help work on it .. I"m a programmer/musician/firefly junkie
