My HWANG JIN-I Painting

This was my painting from last course, in my design class "stensil"on Fabric - Fabric Colors ..

My painting isnt's that pretty, I know .. I thought I would make it better if I had enough time


Story behind the Painting:

As I said, I was influenced by Hwang Jini's drama that was aired on KBS not long ago .. I didn't watch every episode of the drama, but some of the episodes, mainly because of the traditional fashion, and beautiful sceneries ..


To be honest, I didn't like what Gisaengs do, at all (That was one of the main reasons I didn't watch the whole drama)

I mean Gisaengs were more like a pleasure source to weak men .. More like free slaves ( ? ) .. No offense, but this is what I thought watching the drama .. Please don't get me wrong, people


But during the last episodes of the drama, I liked how Hwang Jini was thinking .. She didn't like the idea of her being that pleasure source I talked about, but she changed purpose of her talents, to bring happiness to everyone .. "Using it for a good cause"

& that had influenced me to make this painting!!



At the begining of this course, my doctor "Fareeda" was showing her students our skitches, to give them an idea on what they're supposed to do during the course ..
Guess what she told the students when sha came to this painting's skitch?!
She said "This is skitch represent the Japanese culture!"

I love your painting. I'm waiting for my copy of it with my name writing and all.

I love Hwang Jini. She was a stronge woman with the wrong occupation. But I believe her occupation is the reason of her strength.
