Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II made it's debut in January of 04. The game does not have much replay action as far as unlockables are concerned, but the desire to build an invincable character does make a player want to complete the game multiple times. There are three modes of difficulty with an aditional Extreme mode available after completing the game in any of the other difficulties. There are two unlockable secret characters in the game. One is selectable after completing the game under any difficulty level, and the other after completing the extreme diffculty. Unlike the original five characters of the game, the two secret characters have permenant weapons which cannot be upgraded, broken apart, sold, dropped, or unequiped. Another downfall to these characters is that they have a limited number of feats, and armor restrictions. The good side is they do start at level 16 instead of 1, and their attributes are much higher than the other characters. Upgradable weapons, armor, and accessories allow players to customize their characters in a way. There is a plethora of loading screens during gameplay, but they are quick and do not interfere with the game. Enemies are diverse and plenty, ranging from sewer rats to fire breathing dragons. Enemies linger behind every corner, and believe me with huge areas to explore reaking havoc is one thing you do not get tired of. The camera engine can be manually controlled so players do not have to worry about being cornered by a creature you cannot see. The game becomes a challenge, so challenge yourself.
