Training

[Clonepaw]

Clonepaw had begun to walk ahead of his mentor when he saw the large area that was used to train the apprentices. He blinked happily at the thought that he'd be starting his training and with none other than Shadowsoul.

[Throttle]

Shadowsoul stops in the large clearing, figuring it to be a suitable place to start he walks ahead of the apprentice. Enough so that he can turn around and properly face off with Clonepaw and, crouching low, the tom slowly starts to circle the younger tom. "Before we do anything...you got to show me what you already got...we'll go from there." His words are as drawn out as his movements and once he has made one full revolution around Clonepaw he speaks again, more menacingly this time. "...Come at me..."

[Clonepaw]

Clonepaw blinked up at his mentor as the other began to speak, nodding as he listened carefully. He tilted his head in thought once Shadowsoul told him to attack. ~Hmm what do I know about fighting...not much....well I don't want to make a bad impression....would defence be easier?~ He frowned thoughtfully. ~Probably would be....so fake an attack and go into defence? Right lets hope I don't make a complete fool of myself here....~ He lifted his head to stare at his mentor for a second before faking a head on attack, tensing his body slightly for any blow that would come.

[Throttle]

Thinking Clonepaw would attack, Shadowsoul rushes forward, but when he suddenly stops the older tom doesn't have time to react and bowls right into the apprentice with a yowl, but he's able to get off of the smaller cat quite quickly. Once he recomposes himself he starts to groom dust from his pelt. "So we'll have to start from the beginning...Clonepaw, the first thing you are going to have to learn is how to analyze your opponent properly. I am bigger than you, a full, head on attack would have gotten you knocked to the ground unless my back was turned. What do you think would have been better?"

[Clonepaw]

Clonepaw would have squeaked as his mentor knocked him over had he not been mute. Once Soulshadow had got off of him, he slowly gets to his paws and shook hiself lightly. He bowed his head in shame but tilted his head in concentration when he was asked a question. ~Erm...lets see he's bigger and has more energy so I don't think I would have been able to win with him at full strength...~ Looking up he mouthed uncertainly, 'Try and drained your energy?'

[Throttle]

Shadowsoul makes a half smirk. "Yes, that could work. But if you're in a tight space that would be useless. Try going for attacks behind and above your attacker if you can. Above as in jump, it takes larger cats more time to react to attacks from above." He mews matter-o-factly.

[Chaos]

Chaos padded silently next to Burn as they got closer to the clearing. Making sure that she was downwind, she crept in close enough so that she could see who was in the clearing. "Looks like Throttle is here after all. Good work Burn," she whispered with a smile. Though, that is when she spotted a problem. "It seems that Throttle has indeed earned trust in Thunderclan. Enough that they will let him train one of their own at least. This is good for is cover, but bad for our situation." Lowering herself onto the ground, she quietly watched Throttle and his apprentice as she asked, "What are we going to do about the small one?"

[Burn]

Burn padded up to the hollow silently next to Chaos, his paws making no sounds as they hit the ground. Carefully staying downwind, he saw Throttle speaking with the smaller cat. "Aww, how cute," he commented. "Big bad Throttle's got a little apprentice to teach. As for how to get rid of the wretch, I'm not sure. We need distraction."

OoC// Lol, you need to be downwind. If you were upwind, they could smell you from a mile away.

[Chaos]

(Yeah, well I fixed that. lol It's kinda late over here so my brain isn't working on all cylinders right now. X3)

Chaos nodded her head as she began to think up distractions. "Well, we can't just run in there because that would simply complicate things. We can't take the smaller cat out because that too, would cause problems. There could be the possibility of simply knocking the smaller cat out but that would take restraint as to not kill him." Her tail swished back and forth as she tried to come up with the solution to this problem. "Any chance that we can draw Throttle away without the apprentice following him?"

[Burn]

Burn smiled. "I have an idea. Wait right here, I'll be right back."

...and so, yadda yadda, Burn ran away and Chaos sat and waited for a minute. THEN HE RETURNED. -gasp-

When he returned, he was carrying a medium-sized white object between his teeth. He carefully set it on the ground. "I think this will get his attention." The object was a large tooth, probably that of a fox or a badger. "Do you remember Throttle's old collar?"

[Chaos]

Chaos stared at the tooth for a moment and then back up at Burn. Frowning slightly, she shook her head and said, "No, actually I don't. But as long as this will help us draw Throttle to us without alerting the apprentice, it doesn't matter." Looking back at the tooth she asked, "So, what is this plan of yours then?"

[Burn]

"Well, Throttle always wore a collar covered with teeth, not sure why. Anyways, if I can throw this close enough to Throttle that he can see it, he'll know that there's Bloodclan cats about," he explained. "My only problem right now is that I can't think of how to get the thing out there."

[Chaos]

"Hmm, well the first thing that comes to mind is to climb a tree and throw it from there. But that risks being seen by the apprentice in the clearing." Standing, she paced silently as she turned the conundrum over and over in her mind. "We could always set the tooth on a low branch, pull the branch back and try to launch it into the clearing. Any ideas?"

[Burn]

"Sounds like a plan to me," he said, reaching for a low tree branch nearby. Carefully, he placed the tooth on the branch, and stepped back. "It doesn't look like we'll have to pull it back very far to get it where we need it to go."

[Chaos]

Chaos stood where she was for a moment, as she judged the distance from where she was to the clearing. Next she gauged roughly how much power she would need to launch the tooth. Walking over to the branch, she took it between her teeth and pulled it back. Releasing the branch, she watched as the tooth soared into the clearing and landed in front of Throttle. Smiling at Burn she said, "Good work, now all we can do is wait for Throttle to respond."
