I have a question. Are any of you involved in directly praying for/with people who are dealing with demonic forces?

Scarletprayers - September 29, 2009 06:17 PM (GMT)
Well no, because I personally believe if you are the Lords, they can't do more than annoy you. I don't believe they can possess you, or stay in your home if you call on the Lord for protection.

No.

Not currently, but I did on one occasion, quite a few years ago now.

I don't pray with them, I do pray for them though. I use to be into this stuff.

Yes, I have in the past ... many times. Why?

Chaqar - September 30, 2009 01:37 AM (GMT)
Only a few times. But I have a difficult time distinguishing between true demonic presence and mental illness.

I just finished a book today dealing with people with Multiple Personality Disorder which deals with a lot of those folks that fall into that mental problem catagory. I just wanted to get a pdf of the book into the hands of anyone who was actively involved in Demonic Rescue.

I'm not sure I understand, other one. Does the book discuss how mental illness is mistaken for demonic possession. Or that demonic possession is mistaken for mental illness???

No, it is how a group of people learned to deal with the MPD on an internet chat room and took the time to bring people back together again through the Lord. I had this sent to me, but it looks like it's an active book and is copywrited (bummer). I tried to order several copies from amazon, but they told me that they were sending me their last copy of the book. (double bummer).

It is called "Tthe Shining Man with Hurt Hands" it's a completely fascinating book of help for those in serious trouble with multiple personalities. I think it would be a great help for anyone dealing with the spirit realm, and the possibilities involving people who have been terribly abused.

I realize this is an old thread, but it is an interesting topic. It is possible to mistake mental illness as being demon possession or the other way around. Sometimes the multiple personalities are demons, and sometimes they are just one person who has been through such trama, they split into multiple persons as a coping mechanism. I have been around people in both situations.

Years ago, I was at a tent meeting with evangelist R.W. Schambach. He uesd to be a regular on TBN. He told the story of a demon possessed man in a mental institution. The authorities said he had mental illness, but it was really possession. There were some that wanted to send him a prayer cloth so he could be delivered, but the family didn't approve of it, so they wouldn't allow it. To get by them, the church anointed and prayed over a box of candy and sent it to him, and he was set free, at least according to brother Schambach. Sometimes it takes discernment to tell the difference? Sometimes it is obvious.
