Has anyone seen the movie yet? If so, what did you think. I loved the TV show, and I'm hoping the movie won't be a disappointment.

Actually, I feel hesitant about seeing the movie.
Yes, I loved the TV series, too!
But in watching the previews it seems the humor is more slap-stick and sexual inuendos than the memorable silly antics and one-liners from Smart that characterised the show.

Yes, that's the way it looks to me too, though I'll probably watch it from the library when it comes out on dvd...not at the theater!

This is in my stack of DVDs to watch. I haven't seen it yet, but will write a review when I get a chance to see it. I was never a big fan of the TV series, but I thought the movie looked like it might be funny.

I just watched this movie last night. I was never a fan of the original series. Maxwell Smart was too stupid, and I just couldn't get into the show. Even so, a movie based on a tv series is usually differen't, sometimes better and sometimes worse. In this case, the movie was better than the series. Steve Carell did a good job as Maxwell Smart and Anne Hathaway was a good 99. In the movie, 99 was the more experienced agent, and 86, Maxwell Smart was given his first assignment working with her. Unlike the series, Smart didn't come across as stupid, though he was a bit clumsy at times. Bill Murray makes an appearance in this film but it is a small role.
I thought the movie was pretty good. I would give it 3 stars out of 4, and would recommend it. There were a couple of bad words, but it wasn't prevalent throughout the film. There were some elements of violence, but it was fairly mild. In my opinion, the film could have easily been given a PG rating rather than the PG-13 it got. If you are just looking for a fun movie rather than something too serious, you will probably enjoy "Get Smart."
