Most of last week's playoff games were fairly boring. The exception was the final one between Green Bay and Arizona. Arizona looked like they were going to win going away as they built up a 31 to 10 lead in the 3rd Quarter. Then Aaron Roger led Green Bay back to tie things up at 45. Kurt Warner led Arizona down the field and had them in great shape to win in regulation. All that was needed was a chip shot field goal, and the kicker missed, sending things into overtime. Since neither team was able to stop the other from moving the ball down the field, you figured the team winning the coin toss would win, but that was not the case. Green Bay won the toss but had the ball stripped and run in for a touchdown.
Arizona won 51 to 45. This made up for all the previous games. It was hard to know who to pull for. It was nice to see Warner playing so well at his age, but it would also have been nice to see Rogers pull off a Favre like come back. This week should be interesting. I like the home teams to win, but upsets are possible. Baltimore at Indianapolis The Colts should win, but you have to wonder how that decision to give up on the perfect season effects moral. New York Jets at San Diego The Chargers are the better team, but the Jets are playing great right now, having just pulled off the upset against the Bengals. After a week off, will the Chargers play better or be sluggish getting started? Dallas at Minnesota Perhaps the best match up of the week? Dallas is playing well right now, but the last two victories have been against an Eagles team that doesn't match up well. On the other hand, everyone knows about the battle between Favre and his coach that led to problems down the stretch. Even so, it seems like Favre managed to get past it. I like Minnesota, but a Dallas win wouldn't be a complete shock. Arizona @ New Orleans For most of the year, the Saints had the best football team. I thought they were a lock for a Super Bowl Championship. They fell off down the stretch, and now they look vulnerable. Warner is hard to beat if he is in a groove, and the Saints can't afford to get behind early, because Arizona will likely win in a shoot out. I like the Saints, but they are going to have to get off to a good start and play well on defense. |

I wish that Arizona had beat New Orleans. Now Kurt Warner is retiring. How sad.
