2Th 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,
2Th 2:10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
2Th 2:11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,
2Th 2:12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What is the reason for sending a "strong delusion" to "those who are perishing" in any case because they "refused to love the truth and so be saved" ?

Are they not already deluded ?

Your comments please.

Thank you .

Edwin.

I think that this is the same principle that was at work in Isaiah's preaching (Isaiah 6:9,10) and in Jesus' parables (Matthew 13:11-15). Anyone who rejects the truth when it is first presented to them becomes harder and harder to convince. They harden their hearts, and God 'ratifies their decision'.

I tend to agree. It is like when a person first hears the gospel, and rejects it for any number of reasons. They may believe what they heard is true, but they don't want to serve the Lord. They say no, and as time goes by, they hear the message repeated, but keep saying no. They get harder and harder, and God gives them over to the point where they are never able to come to the truth. He allows them to be completely deceived.
