Look this is just not good enough.
These boards are beginning to look like "what buckthestystem wants to say". Have I said something mean and driven you all away? Look you know I am not perceptive and sensitive to the feelings of others (I read that that is a true trait of a psychopath, maybe I'm a psychopath - but don't let that stop you from posting). Hey, anyone out there???? **WV** **WV** **WV** **WV** |

I don't think we have recovered from the time we were down to be honest.

Ooh sorry, I told you I wasn't perceptive and sensitive to the feelings of others. "Septic arthritis", sounds yuk! What's that? Sort of poisoned bones? Just working that out from the words "septic" and "arthritis", I could be "way off", but it sounds painful anyway. Is there any treatment for it? Does one of your daughters come in to help when you are ill like that? Are you coping OK with the dogs, mother and grandchildren? |

Pear is kingpin, unfortunately. HBP is reliant on her.
I have had a real yukky week, the welfare has finally agreed to pay (partly, anyway) for my dental work and now I am just about used to having no front teeth. I have to wait until the 18th of May for even a first appointment. I really miss apples and radishes and salad sandwiches. I have been eating practically nothing but soft cheese and I am dribbling all the time as there is such a gap there. We have been invited out to dinner by my husband's work for his contribution to "safety in the workplace". Ironic, isn't it? However, I can't go until I get my teeth fixed. "Safety in the workplace" and I can't go due to a work accident. Oh, the irony! Been running around after the kids more than usual this week. I'll try to do better when I get time. |

Sorry to hear about your teeth Bucks.. That must be really uncomfortable. I'm having some computer problems myself - Lad updated it and I can't find ANYTHING! Going to email Pear today to see how things are going. ::hgg5::

If her computer has blown up she probably won't be able to get your email. There is always the library. She could go to the library, or an internet cafe, and email you or anyone else and check her own email. Home computers are nice but I guess we don't all have to have our own computers. I think winter is here already. I know it is not supposed to be winter until June, but yesterday for the first time in ages I had to wear a jersey coming home from work and I found out that the heater in the car actually works. It has been strange coming home at night during the last two weeks. This is a major grape growing area and my path to work is usually miles and miles of rural roads lined with vinyards and then part of the town (which I bypass in minutes) before the main highway where the turn off to the factory is. Usually coming home at midnight the roads are absolutely deserted, but now there are large trucks everywhere and the harvesting vehicles on the rural roads. I'll never forget the first time I saw one just after we'd moved here. I was coming down the road at night and it was quite dark, no moon and there are no street lights here, and I saw this "thing" coming towards me. It has flashing lights everywhere and was MASSIVE and the driver sits about 10 feet up from the wheels (or they might be tracks, I'm not sure). They have this big gap in the middle - for driving along the rows of grape vines. I thought it was a UFO of something. It made a sort of "hissing" noise as it rolled along. Has a top speed of about 6 miles an hour. I am getting used to them now, but it is still rather unnerving when they come at you in the dark. I saw five of them in a row. Just a sign of winter approaching I suppose. We haven't had any frost yet though. Come to think of it, it must be good for the grapes as in past years just before harvest time the night has been filled with the sound of helicopters. They use helicopters to create a wind so the frost won't settle on the grapes and ruin them. That hasn't happened this year. |

Hi Bucks. Pear said she had a laptop so she should have my email. But she has tried and tried to get into HBP but it's as if it doesn't exist! There must be a plot somewhere! :ph43r:
Interesting to read about winter arriving there. Here it doesn't seem to know WHAT to do. We are apparently suffering from a drought, in spite of having had the wettest April on record. We have been told it's the "wrong sort of rain"! All I know is it is wet - is there another sort? We have floods and at the same time a hose pipe ban! And after a mild winter, a couple of weeks ago it went very dark and we had thunder and lightening and a massive hailstorm! I know what you mean about the tractors and something massive coming towards you. I won't drive in the dark any more as I hate those large lorries that are completely lit up and dazzle you so that you can't even see the edges of the road. Maybe Pear has been abducted by one of them?? ::47:: |

:ph43r: Maybe you could send her the link to HBP? Hmmn "the wrong sort of rain" - definitely a plot, "unapproved rain", a plot to tax rain that isn't approved by the government. All part of the great "global warming" scam. Or it could be that new "mind control rain" that is being experimented with in the north part of England (I read about it on my "paranoid conspiracy theory" forum). It might be a good idea to spread the word, rumour has it that Wales is the next testing ground for the "mind control rain", so Pear should be aware of it so that she can be sure not to go without her tin foil lined suit and "faraday cage" umbrella. According to "paranoia.news.com" either the American CIA, British MI5 or maybe Superman or the Easter Bunny is behind it, there is some debate about that and people can't seem to reach a consensus. Do you have farms near where you live? You might be advised to look closely at the combined harvesters on these farms, for Pear who might have been sucked up into the petrol tank. When you go on your reconnaissance mission you should be sure to disguise yourself as a normal farmer - try to look like Benny Hill and wear an embroidered smock and a floppy hat and have a piece of straw hanging out of the side of your mouth, then you will fit right in while you check the combined harvesters. Oh, and Lass, be careful out there. :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: |

Good idea - I sent the link, though the "wrong sort of rain" has caused some power cuts so I hope she gets it. I can certainly dress like a Benny Hill farmer but have you any suggestions how to disguise Bert as a sheep? He's not cooperating! :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: |

Hmmn, how to disguise Burt as a sheep, thinking ..... oh I've got it. You get two sheep-skin rugs and staple them to either side of his body and put a wooly hat on his head. Or alternatively you could knit him an extra large woolly jumper with a matching hat. Just be sure that the jumper is plain, no patterns as real sheep don't have patterned wool. You should use number 10 kitting needles or smaller so that his natural hair doesn't show through. For added effect you might want to get some of those "sheep feet" slippers that you can get for children (don't forget that you will need two pairs). His camel toes might be a dead give away. And the "wrong sort of rain causing power cuts" (though I don't see how that could happen) is all part of the conspiracy you know. (I will just log into "paranoid.news.com" and report that extra fact and see what feedback I get) |
