I reported to duty at Alpha Co.,3RD MTB , 24TH Infantery Div. July of 1962. First Sgt. Gilmore took us three into the CO's office and we saluted in to a First Lt. Gary Bledorn. I was impressed at a full size painting of Panzer General Erwin Rommel behind the CO on the wall facing us. I knew then and there I had arrived!! My name is Dan Denhart the other two fellas with me were Larry Burgess and Clark Curtis. We trained at Ft. Knox and came over on the same troop ship. Train to Augsburg then trucked later to Munich, Henrey Kaserene. There were four tank companies and had recently transitioned to the New M60 A1 tank. First night alert that summer I tripped the search light switch and beamed over Munich. We were there until 63 and the BN. moved up the road to Will kasene and became 5TH BN, 32 ARMOR, 24TH INF dissolved Delata Co. and assimilated personnel int the other companies. We ended up with a gem of a mechanic named Beckley. I left as a SP/4 & took a overseas seperation and motrcycled to England and flew back in Mar. 65. Alota good memories!!

Thanks, Dan Denhart
