PLOT
After the Battle for Hogwarts was over, and Voldemort defeated, the wizarding world began to heal under a new Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. The end of a long war gave an era of peace, and the wizarding world was quiet. Hogwarts, the famous English wizarding school, fell to a new, young administration under the former-Slytherin Yvonne Taeryn.

But not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Former Death Eaters who evaded capture or death began to find each other. Slowly, like a broken vase being repaired, they formed a new regime under the bitter Draco Malfoy. The heinous acts of this malevolent group have only just begun...

Once more, the wizarding world is being divided between the factions of good and evil. Who knows what will happen in this eternity?

Kyle gathered his stuff up and headed towards the older girl. He looked up at her with a little brother like expression and decided to ask for help. "Well thats the problem... I'm not very good at mixing things. I was only using a recipe I found in a book." He tried to act as innocent as possible in order to hopefully get on her good side. Maybe if he pandered to her ego she would help him out. Honestly he didn't have a good plan to deal with the smell... He figured he could burn something new and mask the smell.

"Please... You seem to know what your doing..." Mentally he wondered if he had grabbed her attention.

Esmerelda watched as Zeus seemed to have enough of dealing with the boy and walked off back to the fireplace. Sure, he wasn't the smartest for producing foul fumes throughout the Common Room where surely more students would smell them, but Zeus was being slightly harsh. Even though he was a Muggle-born, that was indeed an interesting talent. She doubted he was completely magic free bloodline-wise. There was probably a witch or wizard somewhere down the line, even if it didn't happen to be one of his parents. But who knew? Certainly not she. She wasn't about to spend the time looking into it either. She wasn't that in to studying.

Well, at least Zeus was gone. He was truly a dreadful boy in the best of times. Pureblood supremist and everything. Well, at least he didn't seem to know her true bloodline. That would cause a whole host of problems.

"Yes, botanicals will probably help the most," she agreed, nodding her head slightly. "And incense is certainly a much more pleasant and soothing scent. As long as you do that, no one should mind your magic-making. I would try to do something about the smell now, if I were you. Before other people get back," she said.

"And thats your choice." The guy called him a fake but Kyle didn't mind. He knew he was right and knew just who to interrogate to figure out the details. Then the older student dared to call him a coward... Of course Kyle just grinned and decided to play along and push it off a joke.

"You got me buddy." He shrugged his shoulders and spoke in a rather timid voice. Clearly he was joking around but maybe this guy would be actually fooled by it?

Once the guy walked away seemingly unsure about what had happened Kyle took notice of the anguish. This guy was fighting curiosity and Kyle knew curiosity won out in the end. It was what made humans so interesting after all. His attention then turned to the older girl whom he still don't know. She was giving him advice and he nodded in response.

"Who knows... But I will add some fragrant botanicals next time to give it an incense smell."

Zeus wanted to know. He dearly wanted to know what this first year saw, but he would not ask. The kid used Divination. That could never be trusted. It was faulty, and fake.
"I'd say that you were a fake." The wizard said with a smirk even though it burned him inside to say it, deny what was going on the grounds of Hogwarts.

Zeus glanced at Esmerelda and rolled his eyes at the girl. She was an airhead, but she enjoyed potions, that made her semi-okay in Zeus's book.
"Well there are other dungeons here. You didn't have to choose this one. Unless you are afraid to be alone." Zeus smirked at Kyle and then turned on his heel and walked away. No use sticking around. He did what he wanted to do.

For now.

The young wizard stuffed his wand back into his robes as he headed over to the huge fireplace in the Common Room. What would he do with the Mudblood?

It took Esmerelda only a few seconds longer being in the room to realize that the third year was not happy with the first year and seemed quite ready to start a duel with the boy, or some sort of physical brawl. First, the one had to create a fowl stench in the room, and now someone was looking to start a fight. Blood could be shed in the common room? That would certainly make an awful mess... And she wouldn't have their beautiful common room getting messed up!

Well, Zeus didn't seem to really care that she was there, as he didn't do much more than aknowledge her presence. How rude! You could at least give a nod or something in the direction of a new person in the room. However, the first year did respond to her and seemed to be delighted by her presence, or at least what she had said. He even agreed to try and make things better next time he did so. That was very kind and thoughtful of him. She certainly liked him better than she did the third year at the moment. Come to think of it, she had heard something about him... Wasn't he a Muggle-born? If so it was a miracle he was in this House.

"If you wish to make it smell better, there are other materials you could use that have magical properties. They may help, but then I don't know much about how they would affect divination. They work well in potions though," she said, in a moment of not-so airheadedness. "It would certainly make the smell more bearable.

Did this guy just insult his gift? That in itself was enough to burn his insides up. Sight was the trademark of his family and what made him special and this guy just insulted everything Kyle considered important. But he shut his mouth and decided to play to this guy's likes. It didn't take much to realize this oaf was a follower of the dark powers and Kyle knew someone of power had entered campus grounds.

"You might think its not but I know a secret you might just want to hear." He grinned and leaned closer knowing this guy wouldn't hit him if Kyle had sparked his curiousity. "What if I told you I saw someone wrapped in pure darkness on school grounds?" This was a whisper and with that he pulled back quickly to stay out of the guys physical reach.

"Believe me or not is your choice. But I know things are going to happen in the near future." Near him a small figure climbed up his back and sat on a shoulder staring out at the room. Kyle held his pot in his hands still remembering the figure he had seen.

He then turned to the older girl and grinned embrassed like. It was a totally different atmosphere about him now as he laughed. "Sorry bout that. I'll go somewhere else next time. I just figured the dungeon was dark and dank enough to get a good reading. Maybe next time I'll add tea leaves and rose buds to get a better fragrance." He still kept the big guy in his line of sight though just in case.

Zeus couldn't help but snort. The kid liked Divination?
"Divination? That isn't real magic. It won't save you if you face the Dark Lord. Which I am sure you will." He said. Zeus didn't like this kid. Actually, Zeus rarely liked anyone. He didn't like the Ravenclaw who cut him off in the hall, or the Gryffindor who took all of the best spot by the lake, or even his own siblings who always took the greatest tarts their mother made during the holidays. This kid was no different. Maybe when the Dark Lord would return, Zeus would be allowed to kill this Firstie.

A voice sounded behind him, and Zeus turned around to see Esmerelda approach. Zeus smirked. The seventh year wasn't very bright, but at least she had her heart in the right place. She wouldn't stand for this young upstart. The young wizard crossed his arms as he glared at Kyle.

"You better watch yourself, Mudblood. Saying the wrong thing will earn you enemies for life. Make sure your loyalties lie in the right place, or you will find yourself at the wrong end of my wand." Zeus pointed his wand at the boy and smirked.

Esmerelda had been out of the Common Room and in the library doing some research for an assignment she'd already been landed with. It really stunk to be a seventh year! The teachers were trying to prepare you for NEWTs, and so they were already loading you with homework and research you had to do... She would much rather have been relaxing in the Common Room than in the library with all the first years who still had to learn the rules of being quiet while in there! It was frustrating to hear them making such a racket! Well, at least their presence made it harder to get work done quickly...

However, walking into the Common Room, she was hit with a very odd and not very pleasant stench. Someone had obviously been up to something odd while she had been away and now the whole of Slytherin House was going to pay for it. She was surprised not to see more Slytherins down here complaining about the awful stench!

There was one, however, that Pureblood loving Zeus who seemed to be causing trouble. Ah, it was with the new first year, or one of them, who seemed to be the source of the stench. Why did these new first years have to always pull all of this? Why couldn't they all just act normal and leave the rest of Hogwarts, settled into their home, in peace?

"I don't care what you were doing, but please don't do it in the Common Room? I'm never going to get to sleep with this stench hanging in the air all night." Esmerelda said. Yup. That was all she had to say, bar the fact a fight seemed about ready to start.

Kyle cocked an eyebrow as the bigger kid stared him down and tried to be intimidating. But he would find someone who wasn't one to back down at all. Instead he grinned showing a glimpse of his white teeth.

"Obviously you've never seen a Diviner before or you would know that I don't used drugs." He was mentally laughing at this guy who didn't seem to know anything about something so simple. "Want me to read your future? Oh wait you need a future first don't you? My bad." He found himself amusing of course and watched this guy carefully. He was excepting some sort of magical response and from the range this oaf wouldn't be able to point a stick at him without having his arm broken. Being muggle-born meant Kyle knew more about fighting than just how to utter curses. And if it did come to a magic fight the kid had better use a high level curse or find it reflected by the protection amulet hanging around Kyle's neck.

""Any other questions, 'Sir'?" Pure sarcasm from the mouth of someone who was crazy enough to spit on the dark lordl himself without fear.
Nevermore Posted on Feb 21 2009, 11:05 PM
Zeus glared at the kid. He didn't like him already. Everyone younger than him, and even some older kids listened to Zeus. He was the future Death Eater, the leader, the one still loyal to the Dark Lord. And now some young kid was trying to stand up to him.

"It is my business when you decide to use drugs in the common room," Zeus said taking out his wand and twirling it around in his fingers. "It is rude to also talk to your superiors that way, too." The wizard gave a lofty glare at the younger wizard. He was much taller than the First-Year and knew more magic. He knew the Unforgivable Curses, had used them on small animals, and couldn't wait to use one on his first Muggle. Or maybe this young upstart.
"So I'll ask you again, and I hope you will reply in a nicer tone. What are you doing?"
