Appearance:

Esmerelda's hair is blonde, simply blonde with no other color really disrupting it except for a slight bit of brown by her roots. She lets it hang long, almost to her lower-back, and it does so in curls. She prefers to keep it down, very rarely ever pulling it back up (except, you know, when it may come to harm from not being held back). Her eyes are a simple brown in coloration, nothing really all that special about them. Her skin is not the palest tone on the face of the planet, but it isn't exactly the darkest either. She sides towards the paler tones most definitely. In build she is not fat, probably sides more towards the skinny side (because, god knows she wants to look good). She isn't the most curvaceous young woman out there, but she most certainly is not flat either. She looks attractive enough, if you can get past her majorly weird-o personality. She stands at about 5'6" to 5'7" tall, so she's average-ish in height. Her clothing is the usual for people of her house and of her school. She wears the typical Hogwarts robes with the green accents of her House. Normally it is accented with some jewelry that goes with said colorations and stuff.
Personality: Esmerelda comes off as one of those stubborn, annoying, bitchy, conniving, spoiled-brat types. She seems to be only aware of people in how they relate to her, and what they can provide for her. However, she is not the kind of person to want to lead anyone else around. Why lead when you can settle for being in second-in-command? Being here gets you all the perks and you don't have to do much work as long as you stay on the person in charge's good side. She doesn't seem all that ambitious or studious in anything, nor very intelligent if you were to speak to her in her everyday speech. She just sounds like your average selfish airhead... However, you come across a very different side to her when you get to know her. She does actually study for her classes and she does know her spells. If you duel her you'd be in for a surprise if you underestimate her by face value. She's one of those human onions who looks really unappealing on the outside... which she can be, but deeper inside she's got a very different side to her. Her most shining moments probably come in potions, where she is rather adept at brewing them for reasons beyond her knowledge. She can be trying at the best of times, and not the nicest person... She doesn't mind mocking people for their inferiority and such and will take part in those proposed 'normal' Slytherin activities. She has an air of superiority to her, which is not easily looked past... Yup, not to mention she can be downright cruel. But yep, she's certainly one you'll never know exactly where you stand with. Crazy girl, crazy girl...
Family: Esmerelda's family consists of her father, Marcus', family that consists of purebloods. They don't particularly like her mother, but deal with her so there is no falling out with their son. Her mother, Cecilia, was a muggle who had no inclination of the wizarding world until Esmerelda got her letter. She's accepted it, however. Esmerelda has no siblings, and thus her immediate family is rather small.
History: Esmerelda was born the only child of Marcus and Cecilia Ravencroft. Her father's family had never been very supportive of the marriage and any resulting children because they were highly pureblood elitists who did not support their child marrying a muggle. However, when they realized this may cause them to lose all contact with their son, their ways were reconciled somewhat and they moved past their prejudices slightly. Her mother was completely unaware for the reasons why her husband's family seemed so opposed to her, but was happy to see those habits go away over time. She was held unaware of the magical world for a while to come.
Esmerelda grew up basically being spoiled by her family, whether it be her grandparents, her parents or any family she happened to come across. The world was in her hands as far as she was concerned, and it certainly seemed that way. She didn't really have any problems with her family, other than the 'special' things she could see her grandparents doing but her mother could never understand. And the things that she could do...
Shortly before her eleventh birthday she received a letter to attend Hogwarts. That was a day of mixed feelings as it was when her mother finally found out about the secret her father had been keeping for quite some time. However, they ended up working it out and her family has regained much of that lost composure over the last seven years or so. She went to Diagon Alley with her family and everything went well from there, getting her wand and her beloved Owl, Carrow.
When she came to Hogwarts she was sorted into Slytherin (her pureblood family was very proud of that). With the house behind her, her less favorable traits grew and education and her brain were kind of put on the back-burner.... However, she has managed to maintain fairly good grades throughout her years there... Now, in her final year, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Habits:Twirling her wand between her fingers, spacing out on people, making airheaded comments
Goals: Esmerelda's goal (despite what others may think) is to work at St. Mungo's helping to brew remedies for the ill-people
Likes: her owl, her hair being in good condition, hanging with friends, potions class
Dislikes: being isolated, being called an airhead, History of Magic class
