PLOT
After the Battle for Hogwarts was over, and Voldemort defeated, the wizarding world began to heal under a new Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. The end of a long war gave an era of peace, and the wizarding world was quiet. Hogwarts, the famous English wizarding school, fell to a new, young administration under the former-Slytherin Yvonne Taeryn.

But not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Former Death Eaters who evaded capture or death began to find each other. Slowly, like a broken vase being repaired, they formed a new regime under the bitter Draco Malfoy. The heinous acts of this malevolent group have only just begun...

Once more, the wizarding world is being divided between the factions of good and evil. Who knows what will happen in this eternity?

Luke was sitting in the library. He had been there for quite some time but had managed to stay there without feeling restless. But those who knew Luke, which was practically no one at Hogwarts, they would know he could sit in the library for hours.
The table he sat at, as well as the other tables by him, were vacated for tables farther away. No one would want to sit next to the Malfoy. So he was to be sitting alone.

Luke's table was filled with books. All of these books were on one subject in particular. Dragons. That's what he hoped would be his life's work. He wanted to work with dragons anywhere he could. That was why he was probably one of the singular Slytherins still taking Care of Magical Creatures in their seventh year. But he needed to have a N.E.W.T in that to be able to work with what he wanted.

So there he was taking notes into a bound pad of paper filled already as he read yet another book on one of his favorite subjects.

She had easily realized that he was a loner.
That made him safer to be around. Less chances of getting hurt.
So Alys, for lacking of better terms, had began following him around as if she were his shadow.
The girl took a book -How to Cook Sugary Treats- and sat at the table he was at, trying to look small. But it was sugary treats. She decided she did like such things even f they were new to her.

Luke looked up when he heard someone sitting at the table. They were sitting at his table. That was new.
And it would have surprised him if he hadn't known the girl who was sitting there. Well, he didn't know her personally, but she had been following him around for quite some time now.
So he wasn't really surprised she was sitting at his table. And he went back to reading shortly after he noticed.

She sneaked a furtive glance at Luke, noting his books were on dragons. She didn't know much about dragon, but they were beautiful.
Then Alys went back to her book, mentally beating herself up for not saying anything. She could. He didn't look evil or anything. But she did wonder why he was avoided...

Luke sighed, flipping through the pages of the book he was currently looking at. He had already gotten homework, and it was oly the first day of classes, but then again he wa a Seventh Year, which meant N.E.W.T.s in the future. He had finished it for the most part.
He continued, glancing up at the girl for a moment. She was in Hufflepuff wasn't she? He wondered what possessed her to sit there. Obviously she didn't know who he was yet. He'd give it a little more time.

Alys became frustrated with her book. IT involved to much magic, and while the outcomes looked good, she hardly knew anything about magic, and would not be bale to produce them. Sighing, she returned the book to its shelf. She grabbed a different subject -Mystikle Beasts- which seemed to be some introductory type of book to magic creatures. She flipped through it and was fascinated by the glossy, colorful images. Hence, Alys took it back to the table.

Luke had continued reading, not paying any large amount of attention to the young girl sitting at the table as well. While it still perturbed him, he was quickly tuning it out so that he could concentrate on his work, well, his extra work he'd been doing since the first year. He had quite a collection of notes, and he thought that the vast library of Hogwarts was the best place to get knowledge on what he hoped to make his life's work. So he had begun taking notes as soon as he'd thought of this. He continued writing and reading silently.

This fascinated her. There was a brilliantly painted picture of a phoenix for this chapter was about that creature. Really, with the large moving illustrations on every page, and the small amount of words, it could be some very young wizard's picture book.
Alys didn't care. She liked it. Carefully she went through a few more pages, before studying Luke again. He was in his books, she doubted he even knew she was there. So many dragon ones....
"You could be one," she said softly, only half to herself.

Luke had been concentrating on his book quite exclusively, having successfully tuned out the girl's prescence for the moment. He had just merely continued on reading, dreaming of dragons and all the work he could do with them.
And then she talked.
The girl actually talked, and he was a bit susprised by the comment.
"Could be what?" he asked her, curious now.
He looked up from his books to look at her and set his quill down.

Oh. He heard her, and responded! She was surprised.
"A dragon," she said simply, leaving it open for debate whether that was figurative or literal.
With Alys, it was probably literal. She thought it would be magnificent, being able to fly. See if Father bothered her then...ironically, she was in a section of the book on dragons, having working past Phoenixes in this section on fiery beasts.

A dragon? She thought he could be a dragon?
"A lot of people probably think I am. That's why I sit here alone," he said in response, taking it as a more figurative meaning than literal. It was a bit surprising to hear someone put it like that though.
He supposed though, that if he was a Malfoy people might put the family in perspective with dragons. Evil. Home-wrecking. Temperamental. Sadly he wasn't that at all. He was very much in a different way though he supposed.

((Yay for the HP Encyclopedia link; know I know the different types! ^^))

Alys studied the pearly dragon soaring around the current page, which contained no words. She was disappointed when the painted dragon hid behind some rolling green hills in the page, and poked at the page with her wand, as if it would do anything. It didn't.
Alys gave him a funny look.
"Why would you be alone? I like...there it is!"
The rainbow-like dragon rose and winged across the page, turning a loop in the air. A painted sun caught the scales and sent little crystal-like sparkles flying cross the page where they reflected.
"And why do you say...think you are? Because you're a dragon or not...right?"
Once more it was open to frustrating interpretation.

Luke watched her, and her odd looks and her fascination with whatever book it was that she was looking at. She must have liked it because she seemed to be looking at it quite intently.
"I would be alone because no one seems to want to have anything to do with me at all," he responded his tone slightly bitter. Not because of her, but of the situation in which he was a social outcast.
He was a bit perturbed by the last half, but then he figured it was somthing to do with the book.
"People's opinions of you can be different than what you really are. They think that you are one thing, when in fact you are not, you are something much different," he said in response toher second question.

The dragon disappeared, and she sighed, moving to the next page about not quite as majestic fire crabs.
"I don't know if I want anything to do with anyone here," she said sadly. Ironic, since she was talking to him.
She looked at him curiously, head slightly tilted to one side. "But that's not right. You're either one thing or another."
Also ironically, wasn't she the one who was afraid of werewolves because they could be like her father?

Luke continued to watch her, interested by the way she acted and the way that she was sitting at a table no one else would have dared to sit down at knowing he was there.
"If that's the case, why talk to me? Other than it being a good way to get everyone esle to ignore you," Luke asked her in response. He didn't understand why she'd talk to him if she didn't want to be around anyone all that much.
He sighed.
"That doesn't seem to be me. I am one thing, but most of the school thinks that I am someone who is much different than I am. It is quite confusing, especially after my seven years of being here,"
