Welcome!

Welcome to Hogwarts Night Class
Hogwarts Night Class exists in an alternate reality, in which the worlds of Harry Potter and Twilight have been compiled, with bits from Vampire Night. The current year is 2008.

Headmaster Kittley and Professor Cullen have come together to try an experiment. As the Cullens have spent years living a vegetarian lifestyle, their influence has spread to many others and together, the two have decided to try their experiment at Hogwarts. The Night Class was created for vegetarian vampires to maintain a lifestyle submerged with humans, in hopes that maybe, one day, the two can live together peacefully.

Only the Headmaster and the Cullens know of the vampire presence, except for two students. Adalia Leigh and Tatsu Szabo are the Student “Night Guards”, with powers higher than the Prefects. Their job is to ensure that students remain indoors at night and to keep the humans and vampires at a safe level. At meals they ensure that vampires don’t reveal themselves to humans and it is their duty to try and prevent humans from learning of their existence.

Vampires may NOT wander the Hogwarts grounds or school by themselves. All Night Class students are accompanied by a Night Guard and may only talk to Day Class students while each is on their own grounds.

The ball had been going well, despite the babbling potion slipped into the punch bowl. However, Kittley has suddenly announced that all students return to the Great Hall and has retreated the terrace back to the school, locking the students inside the masquerade. Outside, though, looms danger. Bella Swan had slunk away and tried to go off to the Night School, but Night Guard Tatsu Szabo caught her, just before a hungry Kei launched at her. Night Guard Adalia Leigh came running after Eva found her, in time to see Kei attacking Szabo…

Up a tightly winding staircase from the fifth floor leads to a door with only an eagle knocker. Instead of a conventional password, students are let in by correctly answering a question. By not answering, the student must wait for someone else to come along and get them in.

Inside, the Common Room is circular and very airy. The ceiling is high and domelike, with stars decorating it. Similar to the ceiling, the carpet is midnight blue with little stars of bronze. Silk hangings in blue and bronze cover the wall and tall bookshelves line it. Many bookshelves are in the room - as Ravenclaws, they need all sorts of books to keep up with their studies.

Squashy, plushy, oversized blue arm chairs surround dark wood tables, all around the crackling fireplace. Spacious, arched windows let in sunlight when not covered by the blue curtains.

Off to the side is a large study area, though it merges with ease into the rest of the Common Room. Opposite the entrance is a door which leads to dormitories. Beside the door is a large, life size statue of Rowen Ravenclaw, made of white marble.

Elegant, airy and graceful, the Ravenclaw Common Room is home to those of intellect and wit.

With the feast over, Mozzie was already in the Common Room. She hadn't been feeling so well, which was probably from all the chocolate she'd eaten on the train ride there... Quentin really should have stopped her. On the bright side, being the first person to the Common Room meant that she could snag the couch and save it.

Curled up on the couch, she stared into the crackling fire in contemplation. Hmmm... the Night Students. They seemed peculiar. Everyone had noticed that - she'd noticed everyone looking at them and keeping their eyes on them. It was hard not to! Even Mozzie had found her eyes drifting back t o them every now and then. And she was used to the pretty boys!

Maybe she'd ask Quentin about them later, see what he thought. Why did Hogwarts even have a Night Class in the first time. No one had said anything about that... wasn't there a reason for a new group of students to join their school...?

On the bright side... eye candy!

Quentin had planned on scampering off to the common room ages ago. Like... before the feast was over. That would have been great! But ever since the day he met Inez and then Mozzie, that was never an option. And Mozzie beat him to the common room this time!

Inez had insisted that they walk around while she talked on and on about every little detail and every rumor that she had heard during the feast. Also, of course, including the Night Students. She was in total awe of them, but she couldn't figure out what was so different about them. Ha! And then when he tried to tell her that they were going in circle, she didn't believe him. Hense, he was much later than he wanted. And yet, apparently he was still only the second person in the common room.

"Hey," he said shortly as the many randomly placed bows caught his attention. Walking around the couch, he gave her a small half smile.

Quentin was never a very smiley, spewing rainbows kind of guy like his friends.

Oooooh! There was Quentin! It had taken him long enough to get up here. In the time that he'd been gone, she had sat and reviewed Ancient Runes in her head.

And Mozzie didn't take Ancient Runes.

Grinning as he came over and stopped at the couch, she quickly and modestly sat herself up, pulling her legs to her chest and locking her hands together around her legs. Resting her chin upon her knees, she tilted her head a little and cheekily grinned up at her friend.

"You made it back, I see!" she crooned, beaming. "Took you ages, you know. I knitted a whole scarf while waiting on you."

Not that Quentin had taken so long.

...or that Mozzie knew how to knit.

"Couldn't break free of Inez?" she asked, knowingly.

This time Quentin gave an actual, genuin smile as he watched her and the short thought, cute, passed through his mind. But he let it pass and then as quickly as it came, the smile was gone. He was back to his normal self.

"A scarf..?" He asked quizically, a brow raising. "You must feel very artsie. Though we already knew that about you." Added Quentin sarcastically with that slight smirk of his.

A knitting Mozzie... That would be a funny picture.

"You got it." Finally he took a seat next to her, laying his arm over the arm of the couch and looking at her again. "I think she had a few too many energy drinks today. Like someone else with their chocolate..."

Quentin's smiles were so far and few between that sometimes, Mozzie wished she could take them and bottle them up. Maybe he didn't realize it, but Quentin had a lovely smile. Actually... Quentin himself was very love. Kind of pretty. Even smirking or wearing his half smile, he looked so very pretty and serene. It didn't help that his black hair was so soft and looked all amazing, toussled and falling in his eyes.

Eep. Stop Mozzie. Perving on your best friend isn't a good idea.

"This, my friend," declared Mozzie, gesturing to herself, but mostly her hair, "is artsie. No one but me can pull of hair like this. Find someone who can make their hair better than this and I'll concede." Mozzie had an odd sense of what looked good...

A gasp followed his comment about chocolate. "Are you trying to say I eat too much chocolate? Because I SO do not eat too much. Inez quite possibly has had too many energy drinks, because unlike chocolate and I, Inez CAN have too many energy drinks."

Oh Merlin, could she ever.

Turning her head to face him, she stuck her tongue out at him. "Hmph!"

Oooooh mature!

Quentin put his hands up in front of him. "Oh I'm sure! I have yet to see anyone with hair quite like you Mozzie O'Neil."

Where as some people may have looked at Mozzie's... creation and thought it was a little over the top, Quentin actually really liked it. It was different and it fit her better than it could possibly fit anyone else. Plus, it made pointing her out if need be loads easier. Heh.

"You win the prize."

Following Mozzie's next little speach, there was obvious amusement that popped up out of nowhere in Quentin's eyes. He knew very well that she could shove down just as much chocolate as 'Nez's stomach could store her drinks. He'd witnessed it! And not only once either. He often found himself wondering how one could store so much sweets at a time without having the stomach of Jaba the Hut.

"Nope, not what I was saying at all," he said with light sarcasim, shaking his head.

He may have stuck out his tongue in return but he had tried that once and felt awkward. Maybe you had to be practiced in the art of tongue stick-er outerie. So instead of having to worry about all that he just gave a short look of triumph, or something like it.

Grinning, Mozzie nodded not-so-modestly at Quentin. "I would hope you should never again see anyone with hair quite like mine." Be it a bit of pride, but Mozzie loved that her hair differentiated her from everyone else.

Besides. Quentin told her she won the prize.

HurRAH! Beaming smugly, she lifted her chin from her knees, grinning. Heehee, though there was no real prize, it made her feel a little grand inside.

Snorting at Quentin's sarcastic remark, Mozzie turned her head a little to have a glance over at him and found that triumphant look upon his face. And Mozzie would not have that.

"I don't! Chocolate hardly gives me a sugar high! For me, too much chocolate is impossible!"

It wasn't exactly a lie about hardly getting a sugar high... she just never realized it.

"No acting smug, there," she snorted, before turning around and semi-pouncing him. Promptly, she began to tickle his sides.

Quentin shrugged. "Whatever you say." Though the smug look was still rather obvious on his face.

Mozzie, not getting sugar highs? Was that a joke..? Though, overall they weren't always a huge jump from her natural personality. Oh and then there never seemed to be a crash that one would think would come after a sugar high! So techniqually she could be right. It could just be her regular self with an extra burst of happieness. Heh.

But before he could even begin to think of anything else, she was flinging herself on top of him and tickling him! And he blushed! Like... big time. But that much was forgotten for a short moment as laughter threatened to come out. Who knew Quentin Girard was tickalish? He hadn't been tickled since he was really young and now by Mozzie?!

Normally, he would probably just slide himself out to the best of his ability, but instead he ended up grabbing her wrists and flipping her, pinning her down.

Pause.

Hmph! Why wasn't he laughing? Or giggling? Or struggling? Where was the fight?

Hardly a moment passed, though, before she somehow found herself on her back with her arms above her head. And there was pressure on them. In the blink of a moment, Mozzie realized that Quentin had pinned her down. A draft on her belly told her that her shirt had lifted a little, but she was more concerned with the pretty boy hovering above her and his red cheeks.

Drawing her knees together and up, feet resting on the couch, she grinned cheekily up at him.

"Well. Hello, thar," she greeted him. "Aren't you looking ravishing with that blush."

Mmm... she had to admit. He did have a bit of a ravishable look to him. Unconsciously, she bit her lower lip.

Stop the thoughts while you can, Mozzie.

His blue eyes showed a hint of more embarassment following her comment. Or was it panic? But, like many of his expressions, he shooed it away quickly.

His face felt hot. Hopefully he didn't just get an even deeper shade of red... Blech.

"Why thank you," said Quentin finally.

Another short pause.

She smelled really good. Did she always smell that good or was it just that he was abnormally close to her face..?
Another realization: He was sort of staring into those dark chocolate brown eyes of hers. He had always been one to go for the dark eyes...

And then, he suddenly had an urge to want to touch her hair too! That's where he layed the smack down up in the big brain of his.

With a quiet cough/ clearing of his throat he moved awkwardly, unpinning her arms and sitting up again. "Sorry..." But he ended up shooting her a smile too.

For the moment before he spoke, the atmosphere felt comfortably awkward. Mozzie was rather content with it and how it felt. Even being pinned down by her best friend. Even after he'd spoken, that static was still in the air and she felt a tingle running down her spine as she continued to bite her lip before releasing it to smile up at him.

The way he was looking at her made he feel shivery and the lightest, faintest goose pimples crossed her skin. Then, a moment later, her arms were released and Quentin was sitting up and Mozzie found that she was sorely disappointed.

And for that, she could not understand why...

It took her a moment to sit back up herself and she did, she moved to her knees, tipping her head at the smile. His awkward cough told her that he didn't feel comfortable, and she knew she really shouldn't... but she did.

Head still tipped, she reached a single finger up and brushed it over his flush. The flesh was burning hot and rosy and she found it rather amusing and her grin curled a little more.

"You're blushing, Quenny," she whispered, not realizing she was whispering.

The awkward air was almost gone it seemed... But it was replaced with some form of disappointment. Though he couldn't figure out what it was for.

Nothing should be disappointing or awkward, techniqually. Mozzie was his best friend. That's it yeah?

Heh.

As her finger brushed over his cheek, he felt a small chill run down his back. Again, he didn't know what was with him. Arithmancy can't figure out that Quency.
Still blushing? Geeze.

"Am I?" He ran his fingers through his hair--a habit of his and shifted slightly, facing her more. "Well, suppose you've won another prize then Motzie. Jocqo swore it was impossible." Shrug. Then followed by one of his crooked smiles.

That crooked smile made Mozzie's insides squeeze and turn to squish within her, sloshing around with any slight movement. Even normally, Mozzie was phased by his crooked smile, and yet now, with all this friction, all this static in the air, she felt a weird sense of pleasure in having gotten him to make that crooked smile.

Naturally, her own smile showed up to meet his.

"You are," she affirmed, finger still on his cheek. Lightly, she drew a line down and along his jaw. Where the rash, boldness was coming from, she couldn't decide or figure out. "What? No one can get to you to blush?"

A wicked grin crossed her mouth as she continued to watch him, her finger finally stopping at his chin and lifting slightly. For a moment, she debated... but then stopped herself.

Because surely it was wrong on a number of levels, beginning with the first being that they were best friends. Mozzie was pretty sure that Quentin didn't have feelings for her and that meant her temptations must surely have been silly and superfluous. For it couldn't be possible that Mozzie felt anything towards Quentin, let alone that he would feel anything to her.

...Mozzie wasn't sure if Quentin liked ANYone.

He kept so much to himself.

She wanted him to tell her stuff.

She wanted... no... she didn't...

"Your cheeks are really warm," she teased, trying to remember how to breathe.

Mozzie had such a nice smile. And it was one that he got to see all the time on her. It was just always so real, so genuin... She wasn't like those people that he found slightly annoying that would only smile to be polite or what not.

And then just when he thought he couldn't get any more red... Well, he did. He could feel his face warm all over again as her finger trailed down his jaw.

And then his breathing sort of stopped with the chin lift. It took a couple moments to get it back as he realized that she wouldn't actually do it...

More slight disappointment Quentin?

"Justine once..." He finally managed to get out of his mouth. "But other than that, no one really other than you..."

That didn't mean anything, right? No, it couldn't. They were just friends!

With her last comment, Quentin reached up and took her hand from his seriously red face, holding it in his own now and giving her another small smile.
