Unfortunately, that tradition was cut short this year as one of its students was killed tragically after a drunken skirmish. James Tyler, 22, from Columbus, Ohio was killed this morning about 1 AM from what appears to be a broken neck. He fell from a second story window and landed on his head. James was to graduate from Madison University tomorrow with a diploma in computer science. He was a member of the academic team and PFLAG. Thomas Adams, 22, from Madison, North Carolina was arrested on several charges including public drunkenness, assault, and battery. Other charges may be pending. Thomas was to graduate from Madison University tomorrow with a diploma in Physical Education. He was a member of Alpha Chi, the baseball team, and Student Government where he served as Treasurer. According to Dean Russell Carter, the graduation ceremony would continue on at 12 PM tomorrow. There will be a moment of silence for James Tyler. Director Group: calanderaccess Posts: 460 Member No.: 803 Joined: 18-October 11	Madison Chronicle Dated August 30, 2001 Madison Native Found Guilty of Manslaughter The jury was gathered for the better part of six weeks for the most exciting trial in 80 years in Madison. Ultimately, it took a day and a half of deliberation for the jury to render their verdict. Thomas Adams, 22, was found guilty of Negligent Manslaughter and Assault and Battery. But he was found not guilty of Murder. Thomas wept as the verdict was read. The parents of James Tyler were allowed to speak prior to sentencing. James's mother told Thomas that no amount of guilt can ever bring her son back to life. James's father told him that this was something he would have to live with for the rest of his life. After the statements from the victim's parents, Thomas admitted remorse for the night where he and James got into a fatal scuffle on the second floor of the Alpha Chi fraternity house. He told James's parents that nothing he could say or do would bring him back, but he vowed to spend the rest of his life trying to make it up to them and speaking out on the dangers of alcohol and poor decision making. Judge Lionel Chambers sentenced Thomas to 10 years in prison. He took in mind that it was his first offense and the remorse expressed by the defendant, but at the same time the Judge explained that his actions required serious consequences. -------------------- All In---Watch Season 2 this spring from Rogue Net. Masked Stranger: (disguised voice) One night ten years ago something terrible happened. A drunk Thomas bumps into a drunk James at the hallway. Thomas (Josh Hutcherson): What's your problem, man? James (Jeremy Sumpter): Right now, it's you. Masked Stranger: (disguised voice) A tragedy that should have had repercussions for years to come. Thomas is taunting a pissed off James. Thomas: C'mon bull, it's time to put you down. James charges at Thomas. Much to the shock of both, James goes through the upstairs window and lands on the ground on his head. James is dead, victim of a broken neck. Thomas looks down at James and starts to sober up quickly. Masked Stranger: (disguised voice) But everyone seems to have forgotten about it. Now we are at a 10 year college reunion. We see some happy people greeting each other. Brenda (Kerry Washington): (excited) Julie! How have you been? Julie (Gianna Jun): Great! I got a surprise for all of you. Julie and Brenda hugs. Both take turns embracing David (Jon Bernthal), who is Brenda's husband. Masked Stranger: (disguised voice, growing angrier) How could they forget?!?! Now we are at Seth's house for what appears to be a mini-reunion. You see each eight people come in, each bringing a different plate for what appears to be a potluck. Masked Stranger: (disguised voice) But what counts is that I haven't forgotten. And by the end of this week, neither will they. Multiple cell phones ring at the same time, each with the same message. David: What kind of a sick game is this? We see the text. It reads One down, nine to go Now comes a montage of shots: Julie walks down a sidewalk in campus when the Masked Stranger suddenly appears. Brenda and David are enjoying a nice dinner when the Masked Stranger shows up. Caleb (Brendan Sexton) in the hospital with a bandaged shoulder. Mike (Anthony Mackie) and Sam helping a distraught Julie. Adam (Adam Rodriguez) and Seth (Cory Montieth) having a discussion about the killer. Ann (Sarah W. Callies) tries to keep herself awake as the Masked Stranger sneaks up on her. Amber (Kristin Bell) tries desperately to escape the Masked Stranger from the radio station. Beth (Jessica Chastain) walks out of the bar. She's had a couple too many drinks. Thomas (Jesse Spencer) walks out from a fast food joint when he's greeted with a rock hitting him in the side of his head. Thomas: (shouting) Why can't these people give me a break? It's been ten years!! The screen turns black. The title Reunion shows up in white letters. Followed shortly by the tag line: Ten Years is a Long Time to Wait for Revenge.
