Lake Hope Features and Ship of Fooles proudly present...

From the director of
"A Streetcar Named Desire"
"On the Waterfront"
"East of Eden"

Marlon Brando, James Dean and Montgomery Clift are without doubt, the three most influential male stars of the 1950s. They were the heroes of a generation of young people, but compared to Hollywood's traditional heroes, they were anti-heroes.
They represented images of masculinity and individuality and their films raised provocative questions of sexuality, individualism and politics.
They tested everything that was new and exciting in society around them, in the most powerful medium and with the most memorable of images.

'When one stops seeking to find out who one is,' said Marlon Brando, 'one has reached the end of the rope.'

Brando was dangerous. Brando was unsettling. He was the most celebrated American actor of the 50s and one of its most powerful sex symbols.

Marlon Brando was a disaffected young boy from a broken home who emerged as one of the most important figures in modern film. He became a legend in his own lifetime, achieving unparalleled critical acclaim for his memorable roles such as the volcanic Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire", the sensitive rebel Johnny in "The Wild One", and the unforgettable figure of Don Corleone in "The Godfather".

In this fascinating untold drama, legendary director Elia Kazan explores Brando's influence on method-acting and on his greatest rivals, whilst acknowledging the charisma and artistic genius that made him into a household name.

From reluctant idol to falling star, Marlon Brando was a complex man who changed the face of acting.

Set against the golden backdrop of 1950's Hollywood. "The Method" explores the tragedies and insecurities that fuel the burning ambition to succeed as an actor.

James Dean was the ultimate teenage rebel, the definitive neurotic boy outsider. His career was over almost before it had begun. His image, more than thirty years after his death, seems richly symbolic of the culture of the 1950s America: youthful, anxious and angry, insolent yet innocent, a Narcissus in denim, forever young.

Andy Warhol once described Dean's image as 'the damaged but beautiful soul of our time'.

In his astonishingly rapid rise as one of film's most celebrated icons, James Dean was the first youth hero and the last great Hollywood star. He crystallized the image of teenage rebellion as no one ever had before...

'Monty was the actor,' said Marlon Brando. 'He was the one you measured yourself against.' Montgomery Clift, who appeared in a mere seventeen movies, was one of the most important movie stars of his time.

Not aggressively sexual, not forcibly chauvinist, Clift can be regarded as the first rebel male of 1950s cinema: he displayed coolness without callousness, youthfulness without callowness, independence without conceit.

There was nothing simple about Montgomery Clift, he was a gifted, haunted actor, a man maddened by his homosexuality even as he was driven to live with the truth.

This is the story of three men who would stop at nothing to be number one.

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." - Oscar Wilde.

unbb24 reviews Method, The

The Method is a biographical/historical/period fiction drama produced by The Dark Horse (I mean his grandfather) and released by Lake Hope Features and Ship of Fooles. It is a story of an aspiring actor, James Dean who is in need of help from his idols or his favorite actors, Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift. But, at the end of the film, they realize that being an actor is different and it is not just as a job.

For the poster, it looks classic because it is a classic film indeed. It was a great poster and I'm glad to see the three great actors of the 20th century working in a 21st century film in year 2012 in which it is about themselves. Sadly, Clift and Dean died earlier in the 60s while Brando continued his successful life as an actor until his death in 2004.

Now, for the website, it is a great website and it is an excellent simple website. Now, let's talk about the movie. The introduction of the film is a a little bit confusing because there are many terms and different formats written in that scene. It gives confusion when I read this but if I can suggest, I would rather just give a simple but glamorous introduction. For the story, it is fun to see James Dean getting help from two great actors. They made the film accurately in the setting and their clothing and their style and swagger. Some of the lines in this film are too unsuited for this film. Brando's lines are very modern. He is like a gangster, but Marlon Brando is a good actor. They show Brando as an actor or is normally just like Vito Corleone? I like the concept of this film.

It is nice to see the classic actors doing a HTG film even though they are already dead. It was a simple but lovable story. They just need to improve the script and the dialogue and this film will be gigantic and even more classic. I liked the concept and I want to praise James Dean in his memorable HTG performance.
