This is a simple poll to decide the next Hyrule Land Wars (Version 6!) location. The choices would all make fair HLW choices.
I vote for ST. I think that, if it was done right, the game would make for a killer Land Wars. The only problem I can see is with the Ocean Realm, as the Spirit Train is really the only seen, and therefore the land troops would have to travel by boat. The way I see it, there could be anywhere from six (the five realms and then the Tower of Spirits) to eleven (Sanctuaries and Temples plus the ToS) bases. There's the Dark Realm, but that doesn't need inclusion, as it's nearly off the map. Also, it could be possible to make Dark Trains (or whatever they were) and tracks, assuming you don't own the Spirit Train... And I suppose, even if you do own it, you could make the trains. That's just what I think.

I PMed this to Bolero - I don't really think a 2D world would work with just everyone. I mean, I don't mean to sound offensive or anything, but it's already kind of a big jump to imagine 8 different armies with ten thousands of troops, just in OoT Hyrule. It takes a lot of imagination. Furthermore, any LW in a game like AlttP or LoZ would need to be converted, through imagination, to 3D. It's just a little too crazy to imagine ten thousand troops all piled into a square that at most could have 30 people in it. And then the temples having one small entrance?
I think a 2D world would only work with some of the veterans around here who would be able to handle something like that, such as myself, Tally, King Daphnes, lys, etc. V6 on ZU would probably have at least one new person, or a somewhat inexperienced person. Which is why I think we should stick to 2D.
I propose next game we play TP. I haven't played that game myself, but it's 3D, and judging by maps I've looked at, maybe at least 8 bases, with 5 or 6 of those being good bases in a good position and decent troops.
I would also like to toy with the idea of doing another WW. However, I'm not a fan of using Jabuns or Big Octos, something that could quickly take out thousands of troops with basically no effort. I also think we should start with one island, rather than a chain. It makes it a bit harder to defend since you'd need defenses on each island, and then some.

I said TP. It's my favorite Zelda game, and it would work best, IMO. WW crashed and burned twice, Alttp would be kind of weird and complicated, IMO, never played TMC so I wouldn't know, and St would be kind of hard due to limited transportation and troops. For example, if you get the Forest temple, the only troops you get are bugs. But, the Tower of Spirits gets an army of massive, armored knights with stuff like fire swords and the ability to goron-roll.

It's been so long since V6 and it didn't have a winner iirc so it'll first come first served.
I still need to take a look at V6 rules, see if anything needs changing to accommodate for TP's world, as well as decide on what will be officially be considered a base.
I'm not sure how the twilight works since I've never played TP, but is it possible to "pretend" it never existed? Like how we have Zora's Domain and the Water Temple coexisting in OoT like the freeze never happened.

Sort of. We would assume the Twilight Palace and Mirror don't exist, along with the Fused Shadows and Twilight enemies. We would still assume the bosses exist, even though they're technically just regular enemies corrupted by Twilight stuff. But we also have a problem getting to several temples. Like, the only way to get to City in the Sky is by being shot from a cannon on Lake Hylia, the only way to get to Gerudo Desert is via another cannon on Lake Hylia, and the only way to get to Temple of Time is with wolf or cucco, and you need the MS to get in. We could just assume that Gerudo Valley still exists and there's some pathway to the ToT and you don't need the MS. Not sure what we would do for City in the Sky, though. Maybe we could say it's on the ground by Lake Hylia or something? IDK.
tl;dr there shouldn't really be too many problems. Only problems that would arise would be from warping to temples.
And we could possibly use the Twilight Palace like Clock Town in V6, if enough people express interest, they could have it as a base or something.

That depends on whether or not people stick around. I don't intend to play, but I will be a war mod whenever it is needed. So if all goes as plans, as long as the players have interest, we shouldn't have a problem.

Yeah, one of the main problems seems to be that we get to a point where everyone wants to build up and not attack. If Everyone attacked every 8-20 in game days, I think it'd be better.
