Several changes to the Netgem's Freeview Channels. I get 92 TV and Radio channels including Film 4 and Film 4+1 and extra radio channels on 728 and 729. I get Five Life and Five US. These seem to have been renumbered a few times and are now in the 800 section.

Before starting a rescan, first check you are getting clear pictures eg Channel 5, QVC, bid tv and price-drop tv. Otherwise you may not get these when retuning.

To ensure I get all signals, I connect the tv aerial to the Netgem input and use high quality 1 inch thick scart cables eg output to the TV scart input. These direct links get the best pictures. I also use these scart cables when connecting to the VCR or DVD recorder. Otherwise I get picture interference scrolling across from left to right onscreen.

Netgem offers exceptional value for money. However, in the last month, software updates have not been fully available. We are still awaiting a further upgrade! Maybe yes, maybe no... In the meanwhile, Netgem hasn't been able to provide us with a fully activated service and customers aren't happy. Getting Freeview is wonderful. Getting Inernet access on a £10 a month ISP requires a proper installation by using the default phone service. If that doesn't work then upgrades are unavailable.

Prices have come down on the BT Shop site but without Netgem providing a software upgrade service we can't get fully working set top boxes. The TV screen logos are supposed to update when we go online or we press Menu Green and then update.
