These rules are in place to ensure everyone has a peaceful and happy time on the board. Breaking the rules will result in punishments, varied in severity from verbal warnings to immediate bans. It takes a severe break of the rules to suffer an immediate ban. Generally you will receive a warning for rule breaking. If you receive five warnings, you will suffer a suspension or ban.
General Terms of Conduct1. Be respectful to fellow membersDo not harass or insult your fellow members and always treat them with the same levels of respect you would expect yourself to be treated with. If there are any issues with fellow members, you are expected to handle it with maturity or contact a staff member and ask that they take care of it. Racial and religious persecution is particularly prohibited and will result in a long suspension or permanent ban.
2. No backseat moderatingIf you see someone breaking the rules, do not act as a rule vigilante and try and force them to stop yourself. We appreciate when members want the rules to be enforced, but members attempting to moderate the behaviour of other members will always lead to arguments. If you see someone breaking the rules, PM a
staff member showing them where the offence took place.
3. No offensive images or materialAbsolutely no nude or offensive images are allowed to be posted on the board. No sexually explicit role-plays are permitted either. Posting any images or role-plays of this nature will result in a permanent ban, no questions asked.
4. Advertising You are not allowed to advertise in posts or through PM or email. You are allowed to advertise in your signature, but nowhere else. If you advertise something in your signature by using an advertising banner, then it must not exceed 150x300 pixels in size.
5. No spammingSpamming consists of useless posts purely for the purpose of raising your post count. Also do not double post. If you have something else to add to a topic, use the edit button.
6. Signature SizeSignature images should not exceed 500x300 pixels in size. If you have an image that is bigger and you would like it resized to fit in your signature, PM
Syerra to get it resized.
Rules and Regulations of Role-playing1. Do not power-playPower-playing means to control another person’s character in your post. You are not permitted to dictate the actions of any personal character other than your own in your posts. This includes fight role-playing and posting whether or not your strikes on another character were successful or not. This has to be determined by the other player.
2. Do not god-modeGod-moding means to write your character as unrealistically powerful. This includes having your character never being struck in battle (E.G. always avoiding attempts to attack you from other characters), or writing your character’s attacks to be more powerful than is realistic for them to be.
3. Do not give your characters too high a positionIf you involve your characters in the military or the Government, don't make their rank or position too great. They should start low, as their will be applications for higher ranking positions that you can build up towards.
4. Good grammar and spellingWe expect all of our members to make an effort with their grammar and spelling when role-playing here. We appreciate that not everyone has perfect grammar, but we would ask that when possible you at least run your posts through spellcheckers. 'Netspeak' is not allowed; please always use the proper dictionary spelling of words when possible. This makes your posts considerably easier to read for everyone else.
5. Do not post below the minimum word amountAll posts should be at least
100 words in length. This limit is set to ensure a constant level of quality. This limit counts only towards IC words, so please don't put OOC comments at the end of a post just to reach the limit.
6. Obey the Valkyries and NarratorsIron and Blood has certain accounts called Valkyries and Narrators. These accounts dictate how certain role-plays proceed, deciding on incidents that occur and decide the winner of battles. These accounts get involved in few topics, but when they do get involved in a topic, your replies should always adhere to the guidelines set out by the account. Valkyries take part in highly important topics, usually involving large battles, though they can also become involved in other topics. Narrators become involved in miscellaneous role-plays at any given time.
7. Characters and alternate charactersYou should only have one character per registered account. Do not role-play as multiple characters under one account. You are allowed to have multiple characters, but you have to register a new account for it. There is no limit to the amount of accounts you can have.
8. Only use weapons/magic/skills that you have requisitionedIron and Blood has no shop system. If you wish to use a weapon/magic/skill then you need to go the Requisition forums and request the use of whatever it is. Your character must have a logical reason for needing the item (I.E., it'll play a part in an upcoming/current topic). You shouldn't just requisition items just because you want to own it. There is a limit to how many items you can requisition. For more information see the pinned rules topic inside the requisition forum.
9. Rules on revamping existing charactersIf one is heavily re-modeling a character of theirs, they must post a new application in the Character Applications forum, marking it that it is a revamp at the top so it is obvious to the admin reviewing it.
What does not need a new application (you can just edit your profile without penalty): alterations in personality, mild physical changes, reasonable change of class, or a last name change.
What does need a new application: race change, name change, large change of history, gender change, empire change, and any otherwise massive changes to a character.
